Ok, so i bought my car in october of 2005. Its a 2006 tc. When i bought the car it had 6 miles total on it. It was fine for the first month, but then i noticed that driving on the 57N freeway, there was a distinctive rattle coming from my hatch. I looked thru the whole car only to find myself confused about the root of the problem.
I decided to take my car to the dealer. They, after my first visit, told me that it was an interior problem, and they needed and interior engineer to look at the problem. So i brough my car back for the second time to have the interior eng. look at my problem. Toyota then told me that the rattle was caused from an inconsistency in the rear left C-pillar.
So now they needed to have an exterior eng. look at it and see if body work would be warrantied or not. So u guys still with me? So I ended up taking the car back a third time for the exterior guy. They told me that they could not do paintless dent removal, and that taking the car to an actual body shop would essentially fix the rattle. So 3 trips to the dealer for the same problem, and still nothing!. Finally Toyota calls me to set up an appointment to take my car in for body work.
The body work is done, no more inconsistency in the C-pillar, but now the rattle is twice as bad!! So i have taken measures by getting a lawyer, and reporting my car as a lemon. This post is to help people like me by showing you that you have more power than any dealer!! By law, Dealers only get 3 times to fix any problem on any brand new car. If you go in 3 times for the same problem, and no fix, get em where it hurts. Make them give you a new car. THEY HAVE TO!! Hope this helps all you rattle having peeps!
