Project:Stock *commenced* so far, got my rims. Gonna get some stock body parts soon, probably in 1-2 weeks. Will keep updated and post pix.

 

What rims you get buddy?!? Are you trading someone your part for there stock parts?

LoL "predicted"! Ill keep it on the DL. I got a whole plan for this project. Should be temporarily finished by October before the scion night at Knott's. Main thing I wanna do is have a stock bumper as low as them folks with most lip kits (prolly not like Jeremy or Hayseed).

So that's a lil tip of what I'm doing, hence "project stock". Doing the most I can to look FreshOnStance ;p

 

When's the knotts thing? I'm thinking about going it's free or something like that rite for like the first couple of cars? Ima txt u I wanna kno ur plans lol

so i guess there's no Scion Nights at Knott's this year... apparently last year was their last run. Anyways, "Project: Stock" is underway. Got the biggest part done VVVV

Your car looks so weird to me after seeing it so long with the kaminari kit, but definitely Love the stock look, that's the way to go simple & clean my friend. Did you sell your black rims?

 

I know same here I'm starting to miss that thing mucho. Made me feel different and special lol I did sell the my black rims. Belongs to a silver 01 vw gti now. First wheels ever bought myself... (sigh)

I'm going to say no, just cause your car is a dark color so there will b no point will kind of blend in. If your car was white or silver in the other hand I will say go for it.

 

good looking car. i would change the color of your antenna back to black again. the orange doesn't look good anymore.

 

@Hector - thanx for the input man. My cuzzin had an overlay on his car (which was black) that looked sick. Figured it might look good on mine too. Ehh o well

@ScionSS - the antenna was red, I forgot to put it on for a while. Don't really listen to the radio as much, but I'll consider your suggestion. A random red antenna would look weird at this moment

 

Oh okay, well in that case what I suggest you do is photoshop A pix of your car to see what it will look like, and that would help you decide if yay or nay

 

i'd say no to a hitler stasche. keep it simple and clean IMO.

 

So I passed my finals in Pharmacology and Med Surg, and I have a week of break before school for another 9 weeks straight. So what better than make the first 24 hours of my break productive towards my car?

So on the day of passing, I drove from Irvine to Granada hills to get my fenders rolled/shaved by Tony w/ the Bimmer. The fronts could've been flatter, but the rears... Well, there are no rears.

One night passed... got some goodies in the mail.


In the box was also 2 pairs of camber bolts.


And off to Jeremydoc's house, me and my girl, went.

Took off them GTi wheels...


Removed bottom perch ring, slammed the front coils, installed camber bolts


Swapped out my tail lights for Jeremy's old ones (temporarily)...


Put on the new lugs

*Hint* - If you don't wanna F up your bomb lugs, oil the inside of the key and the lugs before torquing them and take out the key gently when you're done... no scratches

Cambered the rears and lowered the rears by half an inch and after 4 hours of hard work and some pork adobo w/ rice. Tada! Finally flush, freakin beautiful...




I got Jeremy's blessing so we took some "Twinsies" pictures.





... and after 40 min. of driving with wheels in the rear, many scrapes, and rim scratches later, the car settled lower so more pictures came...





And for those who don't know, I have 17s in the front and 18s in the rear and Jeremy has 18s all around, so slight difference. "Project:Stock" is almost done, but needs a little more "here's and there's". Thanks again Jeremy.

 

O, and I'm approximately running ~ -4 camber in the rear, and ~ -3 camber in the front. I'll check tomorrow when i get my alignment tomorrow.
