Just a warning for those of you "browsing rates". Be sure you aren't actually applying for the loan, meaning they run a credit check on you and everything, as each time you do this your credit score lowers and your interest rate will start to go up.
Yes, thats good to keep in mind. Since I'm not able to buy before December anyway I thought I'd check now. I pay my bills on time and have a running balance on my credit cards which they like, so any damage should be mitigated by then.

Gee I think I messed up mine coz' after I purchase my car using the dealer credit, I tried appling at Capital ONE thought of getting a 3.85 but didn't.

One friend told me that they take out 10 points from your score everytime they run a credit check on you is that true?
How about when applyiing for a job sometimes they run your credit rating and the like, will they take off points too from your score?

I'm not sure what the exact number is, but I think its around 10...

Each time you personally check your credit, or have someone else do it when applying for credit (car loan, credit card, etc..) your score lowers. When it comes to things like your employer, I'm pretty sure there is no penalty. Creditors are only concerned when you are "shopping around" for credit.

Of course, with time your score will go back up... unless you decide not to pay a bill, or charge up your credit card

You can check your own credit report through one of the big three bureaus without it lowering your score.
