Maintain reqd
Okay. I am in the middle of a roadtrip and am on my way back home. 1k miles left ish. I'm on my phone so I'm not going to take the time to search, besides I think it's minor.
Car history:
Bought Dec 2010. 9 miles
Oil change Mar 2011 ~2800 miles
Oil change Jun 2011 5067 miles
10k maint Sep 29 8260 miles (road trip started 10/1)
~9600 miles "maint reqd" light flashes on startup. Owner's manual says it means to do oil change. I called my hometown T/S dealership and they say it's probably because they forgot to reset the oil change light.
~10,070 (5k after Jun oil change) "maint reqd" light goes solid while driving.
Am I good to go or can this be bad? I'm 1k from home and no dealerships currently open in area. Is it just the forgotten oil light? Everything else is GTG. I'll check back in about 100 miles or so.
Thanks in advance. Love you guys for helping.

it is just a reminder, like a kitchen timer, it has absolutely no idea if you've changed the oil or not.

Roger that. Now I will continue to drive maniacally. Thanks a load.

the reset procedure should be located in the owner's manual.
yes, it's only a mileage counter and nothing more. used to remind you to change your oil.
