To Many Complaints For A Brand New Car
obviously i have the scion tC. but either i have to many complaints or its just me expecting to much out of it? first of all we all know of the poping in the sunroof, i had that fixed. then i have rattling windows in the side doors. then i have rattling in the dash. i have an appointment to get all that looked at. then i also have a clicking everytime i switch gears. im going to get that looked at too. now im picky about noises in my car but my question is that, is it just me expecting to much or do others have the same stuff? do others have any other complaints????

no rattles here.
i'm thinking that all of these people with rattle problems spend too much time near redline (lots of vibration)
but yeah, you're expecting alot. it's a cheap car, built cheaply.
my friend's MKIV supra rattles too. no car is perfect.
just look for the rattles and do whatever you need to do to make them stop. take it apart, wedge some foam here, cram some rubber there, slap it back on and be happy with it.

true, but i dont really redline. once in a while but not alot. i had a 93 Geo Prizm(lol) and i never had vibration in the windows, dash, nothing and it had 135,000 miles. and i had no clicking when i switched gears. now i think that car was built cheaply.

I have had a 2002 Chevy Cavalier LS Sport Coupe and for almost three years very few problems (dead battery, warrantied; sticky power window, warrantied) with no rattles or squeaks. With the reputation of Toyota and Japanese cars in general I certainly would not expect these types of problems for a $17K car.

93 geoprizm, no problems. got it for $1000 with 120,000 miles. ran it for 15,000 miles.
2005 scion. rattling in many places. clicking when switch gears. not complaining with performance, but its the little things, got it for 19,700, not including finance. have 5,800 miles

Don't think it is cheaply made. It is not like a Lexus but definitely a great buy for the money. Many have rattles. Take it back and get it fixed like your roof. Personally I think it is nicely made. The doors are long and heavy (good in case of accident). Knee air bags. Very good crash test ratings. (if it was made poorly, the crash test ratings would rate the tC very poorly).
The seats could be a little more comfortable. Other than the seats and an occasional rattle from the hatchback area, this car is great. And the price is very affordable.
