my 05 scion tc vs 02 monte carlo ss - good/bad ending
*there is some sarcasm in this post*
well i just got off work a little while ago and was at a stoplight. take in mind this stoplight is on a road where no one after dark travels on and is a nice 3 lane raod each direction with a giant median in between with hills and trees. next to me is the monte carlo. the light turns green and we both go at the exact same time. made it up to 75 mph, all the time pulling further away from the monte with a car and a half length lead. then low and behold a bright and shiny police car...the only other car the whole distance of the road. he was cruising down the other direction and my radar detector went crazy. his lights came on and he whipped a u-turn. low and behold he chose to pull me over instead of the monte? so i get 3 different police cars to come say hi. automatically get theatened to be taken to jail...that's always fun to hear. stepped out of the car for 15 minutes staring at the bright new shiny cop lights...i'm still seeing spots. the officer comes over and writes me 3 citations, 75 in a 45, running a red light, and address being wrong on the license. can't do defensive or deffered for the speeding, 30 mph over. that will be a nice hefty fine. Insurance will go up, rock on!
the moral of the story is, i will be paying a crapload of $ for my tickets & insurance and will not be racing for a long long while. HOWEVER i did beat the 02 monte carlo ss.

How can a cop do a u turn in the middle of the road when there is a big center divider?

Modern Monte Carlos are garbage. 0-60 ~ 8.5 sec and 1/4 mi ~ 16.5 sec. They aren't sports cars by any means, so I'm not sure why you guys have such a hard-on for them.
Too bad about the tickets, but everybody gets tickets now and then.

Take it easy, man. Several years ago, I was racing with a SLK in my Subaru SVX and we go up to about 100mph on highway. I can see the cop coming from behind and I slow down. That idiot was still going like 100+. But you know what? I was the one who got pulled over. I guess it is easier to pull over a slower car, you know, to fulfill their monthly quota. Anyway, by the time the cop's laser hit me, I was going like 89 and got a big ticket. But, heck, like jason said, we all get ticket once in a while.

I'll never understand why people are impressed by street racing like this....
If you want to race, get out and run
If you were talking about running into Maurice Greene or Marion Jones, and beating then in a 200m, that'd be impressive

Cop: have you ever gone fishing?
gf: One time!
Cop: When you fish you want to hook all the big fishes in the water, right? But have you ever caught all the big fishes in the lake?
gf: .........
Somehow, this story sound so familiar.
Anyway, moral of the story: Sorry, you're the unlucky and easy one!
I have never race again since that big ticket.

I'm pretty sure that the SS wasn't racing you...otherwise...
idioit. a monte carlo SS would destroy you in reverse, this is the most inane post i've ever read.

1) You NEVER pay sticker on run of the mill American cars. NEVER.
and
2) Even not paying sticker, they're still overpriced for what you get.
Performance, design, price
Pick two to compare. Trying to compare any more is useless.

did he actually gun you? cause, you can fight the ticket if he didn't i think. i know in Hawaii, they have to fill out all there paperwork exactly right. and you have to be gunned, or they have to follow you for a mile while you do that speed. but, then again, if you don't get impounded for street racing, i guess you should count yourself lucky.
