idioit. a monte carlo SS would destroy you in reverse, this is the most inane post i've ever read.
How can a cop do a u turn in the middle of the road when there is a big center divider?
This whole post must have been sarcasm

Street racing is completely stupid. Been there done that, regret it. Seen many people get hurt, get arrested, get fined, get screwed. Take it to a track if you want to race. Then again, a TC is not a race car in any sort of way, so I would suggest just enjoying it as a practical commuter to get to work/school and thats about it.

Now those are bragging rights indeed. :-P

I was at the track last night (Lebannon Valley for all you Northeast guys)... there was a new body Impala SS 3.8 S/C... looked stock, def had pulleys and sh** though... ran a 14 flat, similar weight -- same drivetrain. That was out of control, I was expecting 16-17's. lol...
Anyhow, there was a very disappointing tC there... had no plates, so it was a dealership. It was a manual, ran a best of 16.7 if I recall. I was rather upset.

I have a 70 monte carlo wanna race?
Did you run the red light?
a buddy was at the court house today for a ticket he got and checked how much the fine for 30 mph over is, $238. that's less than i thought it would be. i can get deffered on the red light. the license i can get fixed and dismissed. but my insurance goes up. yay!

well i just got back from the courthouse today. total fines were $600 + defensive driving. 30 mph is defferred, so no speading for 90 days *fingers crossed* running the redlight, defensive driving. and fined for the license. so nothing hits my record as moving violations. but $600 hurts. don't think i will be doing that again.

With my new tC I now have jumped head-first into the Import scene. I'm used to hanging out in a group with truly fast, performing (albeit somewhat dated) vehicles running 10 to 12 second quarter mile times. (That's my Daytona IROC R/T, if you're wondering.) Maybe I'm spoiled by that kind of exposure.
Getting to the point, since I've gotten my tC, I've had MANY people from around here want to race me. Lots are people that I dusted in my other car and they don't recognize this one. So I know what their cars (more importantly THEY) can do - and what mine can do.
I think import street racing is like poker -- you have to fold 80% of the time at first, saving your money until you are really ready to play the big dogs. I won't even pretend to race anything until about $3500 later...

Forget exactly how much, but yes the new SSs have 240HP, but the 02s don't, I think maybe 200 (220 at the utmost, but think 200), but still think it could take a tC. Like I've said before, I had my heart def set on a 2000 Ram Air TA, but couldn't afford the insurance (as much as the car practically) since I'm in school. You want a "REAL" sports car, then buy a TA, Camaro, or even a GT Mustang, but if you want a good overall value that will prob last, get a tC. Hope your post is true though, cause my coworker as a brightass yellow 02 SS Monte as well, hmmmmm................

New monte Carlo SS... LMAO, what a waist of a car. I wonder how many were actually fooled into buying that car?
The damn Cobalt SS is faster than that. Chevy really screwed up with the new Monte Carlo and Impala.
