replacing an axle is $1300 give or take some if you want to bargain with a shop... new bumper is $600 painted.. windshield you can get aftermarket for like $200 installed.. fender is $450 painted..
these are the only prices that im sure of! hope this helps...

air bags are scary. When mine went off i could still smell it for two weeks.

YES THEY ARE!!! I was in accident back in '04. Both airbags went off. My mind never forgotten that burnt smell even to this day. I drive by accidents with airbags deployed and my mind triggers a chill down my back.
Anyway, insurance companies are quite funny in a odd way. Beginning of this year, I was in another accident "Not At Fault." So my bumper had crack, driver's front fender had dent, hood was smashed in. My car had 120k miles. So I'm thinking "Not totalled" because the shop stated it would cost $3,700 (at most.) Within couple of days of them taking apart the car; they found additional $3,200 damage including frame damage. They fixed everything (I hope.) Right now, there's so much odd things going on with the car. I'm fearing how much of "crap" job they did because they straight out stated to me "We NEVER seen a car with this type of strange damage before..."
Last year, my sister got rear ended. Her car was only worth $4,000 and she owed about that. Body shop's bill was $10k.
So I wouldn't get your hopes up for a new car.....

Your car isn't going to total after this one. Not unless there is some significant damage underneath.
As for fault, since the woman never hit you and you never hit her, it's probably going to be listed as your fault by the insurance company. I'm seriously surprised she actually stopped at the scene.
Rule #1 - always let the person hit you unless you are 100% sure you can avoid it and there's no chance of you hitting anything else.

im sorry to hear about that man.
i hit a deer last summer on the highway doing 80 and believe it or not it caused a little over 10k. i was for sure the insurance was going to total it bc of the damage amount but no. it was in the shop for about 3 weeks but i did get to drive my cousins rx8 in the mean time.

sorry to break it to you but no where near a total loss i picked mine up from my brother in law its an 07 he did 10,600.00 worth of damage much worse then yours and they didnt total it out thats why i got it for 5k from him nice thing is if the shop is good noone will know it had any work
