Default My rant about a light........

Anyone seen this yet? I didn’t even know the car had one but…..

I was at work and my wife was driving the tC. She called and said “A light with a funny looking light just came on, what does it mean?” The car only had 1500 miles on it so I just figured the dealer forgot to add motor oil. No big deal, right? I’ll just get a new car, right? SO I tell her it’s fine, and to not worry about it(she still worried).
A few more minutes pass and she says the car feels funny and is pulling to the right- I scream “Pull over now, the tire is flat and you’re going to ruin it if you don’t pull over now”
Wife- “But I’m on the freeway”
Me- “pull over to the side right now”
Wife- “I’m just gunna drive to the next exit”
Me- “crap”

So I drive up there in my IS, and try to put my full size spare from the IS on the scion, but the bolt patterns are not the same. I curse at Mr. Toyota for ruining my day

I put the bright yellow doughnut spare that we are cursed with on the scion and drive it to my buddy, who conveniently manages a tire shop

He laughs at the Bridgestone, as it is FUBAR

He then laughs because his shop does not have Bridgestone

I tell him to take the Bridgestone from my IS Full size spare and put it on the Scion…..Turns out Mr. Toyota not only uses multiple bolt patterns, but also uses different patterns of rubber. I again curse at him.

I now have an off brand of tire on my car…..the stock Bridgestone is $200+ from a different shop- I can buy a full set of non-Bridgestone tires for less than one Bridgestone. I again curse at Mr. Toyota for using a retardedly expensive tire.

I drove to vegas last weekend and the light came on again. I am driving so I pull over right away with the wife yelling at me to go to the next exit. I have no flat, so read the manual and it says that the low pressure sensor can sense when the tires do not match, and will cause the light to come on. Once again, I yell obscenities at Mr. Toyota

So now I have a funny looking light on at all times until I can find time to go to the dealer to see if they can do anything.

Should I pay Mr. Toyota a visit?

Just get new tires and sell those, if you can afford it.
$155 Bridgestone Potenza Stock (1)
$70 Continental Conti-Extreme Contact (Perf. All Season) (1)

Had the conti's on the all-trac, so beautiful. Much better tire than the potenza's.

the car wont care about the kind of tire you have .to set your
tire pressure properly park on level ground have the key on then reset your light (in the glove box) and wait for it to stop flashing

I'm confused.

So a big warning light went off on the car and instead of having her pull over or get off the freeway you told her to forget about it and keep driving? And you're bent that toyota uses 5x100 for the tC and 5x114 for the IS300? Then you tried to swap tires and they were *gasp* different tires!? Then you were mad that the treads on the tires were different so instead of just using it you bought ANOTHER different tire?!?!

Sweet jeebus.

you can't have 2 diffrent tires on the car, it will set the light off

either have bridgestone or contis not both

put it in the key on position and then hold the tire pressure button till it goes away keep holding it till it flashes 3 times

it will recalibrate after you drive it about an hour or so

the light will come on in any of these cases
-tire rotation
-balance
-mounting
-adjusting tire pressure
