You didn't, by any chance, install an intake, did you? When I had an integra I installed a K&N Typhoon intake and right around that rev level it really whistled/screeched - it sounded horrible. The very quiet sound the tC makes is just fine with me.

it's called an intake. the tC was designed like that so it would replicate that sound.

i think it might actually be caused by the little box thats just off the tubing, i have no clue for sure. i know a couple people put rubber stopper things on that, wonder if it changed it. IMO it sounds great. i love that sound.

Its not that little box thing. my tc started making more of a whistle when i removed it and put on an Umnitza intake. at about 3k under steady acc anything over that the intake drowns it out.

it whistles hella loud with my weapon R intake everytime i press the gas pedal. i'm guessing its from the air being sucked into the throttle body through the intake/airbox... correct me if i'm wrong please, i'm only guessing.

I'm sure you're right - I haven't heard the Weapon R, but that effin noise is the whole reason I'm not putting an intake on my tC - they spend a lot of time shaping the airbox to get just the right sound and sound level - I seriously doubt the aftermarket manufacturers put that much thought or science into it. I want the performance gains without the screeching.

it's not like a screeching, but it sounds more like the whistling from a turbo.

My last car with an intake had a pretty loud whistle, but it was a screechy whistle right around 3200 RPMs. So it would come and go as you accelerated (almost worse than always being there). It was pretty loud and it almost sounded like a loose belt or soemthing. It wasn't "performancy"... it was crappy sounding.

It does it stock, but is much louder with a CAI. Sounds ok to me.

I have an injen intake and mine whistles too. It sounds like its sucking in air... doesn't sound bad like a loose belt or anything.
