I wouldn't let him TAKE your car anywhere. Tell him you'll present him with a couple estimates and he can pay you cash. Check out his "hook-ups" and see if they're legit.

It's fine if he doesnt wanna go through the insurance company if he's willing to put up the money to fix it properly. Remeber, HE'S the one who made the mistake and rear-ended you - YOU have the upper hand.

And if all else fails and he doesnt come through, call your insurance company and you're set.

I already tried that, I gave him a chance and told him I want a specific dealership to work on my car. He didn't want to because he said he wants to keep his costs down. So I turned it over to my insurance company, they said this is pretty cut and dry, so no matter what im covered and my money will get back to me.

Hey...whatever is best for my tC is all that matters, and this route was the best.
