Yes, a tC can handle 12 psi, but as you go higher and higher boost, the life of your engine is shortened, especially if your on it all the time.

The supercharger and powertrain warranty will be voided.

With the 9.5, you just bolt it on and the supercharger will still run efficiently, meaning no tuning required, just drive and have fun.

Now exceeding 10, such as the 12 your looking at, will require you to tune the tC or you'll start having problems. It would most likely run lean at high rpms and you could fry your valves.

IceNine with 311hp SC/tc, told me the 12 psi pulley need stronger internal engine parts.

if your tc is 05 or 06, you can change the pulley. just swap the stock pulley back on if u need to take it back to the dealer.

The 07 and 08 SC comes with a special bolt. You need to destroy that bolt to take the pulley out.
I would not recommend changing pulley on 07 or 08.

They are few people who are on their 3rd SC. That is the joy and pain of boosting.

Yea, you do need stronger internals with 12, because you'll most likely be on it all the time, but you can get away w/o forged internals.

I'm on my 2nd supercharger, supposed to get a third, but they haven't got it yet b/c TRD wants to modify the bracket, well thats what the Service Manager tells me. Both went bad fully stock too. First one nearly self-destructed, this one now sounds like an Eaton-Roots, which is good, but bad lol. Everyone can hear my quiet tC pull up, most ask, you got a supercharger?

The 05 06 s/c now come with that special bolt b/c mine has it and I'm in n 05.

Back to the main point, you could go 9.5 if you must choose, because it'll not cost you as much in the end.

im driving 08 tc T.T this special bolt thing. is it replaceable?
i guess the thing im looking for is.. is it safe to do so? lol

are the trd s/c known to be easily broken?
seems like people had to get new s/c with their warrenty becuase they find all kinds of different problems
now that i duuno if its cuase of the modding of pulleys or anyhting

From what I've seen/read/experienced, the 9.5 shouldn't break your charger.

For the 05/06 s/c, there are more problems than the 07 on up because of different designs.. I'm currently waiting on my third, and I have the 05 tC. Putting that 9.5 pulley on will overall cause more stress so it wont exactly last as long as the stock 7. But by Vortech's listing, it should be able to handle a much higher rpm, so 9.5 should be no big deal.

That bolt will most likely have to be destroyed/defaced in order to swap pulleys, but with luck you can find one, or get a machine shop to custom make a socket for you. TRD/Toyota will not give you that special tool, so don't go asking lol. And Toyota mechanics don't have access to it, or at least, they're not supposed to.
