"New York Tint Law Enacted: 1991
HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN NEW YORK?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In New York, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used.
HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE IN NEW YORK?
Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.
Front Side Windows No metallic or mirrored appearance.
Back Side Windows No metallic or mirrored appearance. "
Exactly my point guys

Thank you all for your input and I will see what to do moving forward here. I may go to a 50%, I had a buddy who had 30% on his Jetta and was pulled over in 2 weeks for the tint. Just driving as normal. Then they asked to search his car as well as had him rev it to hear the exhaust. In the end he got a ticket for noise pollution, loud exhaust and tints.
We will see, aside from the tints any other comments?

besides a tint, I think the next few things you should look into getting are springs/coilovers and new tail lights. unless you prefer those tails over something like the oldschool OEM lights.
a good drop and cleaner tails will make a huge difference in the appearance of the car.

***I need floormat ASAP, where is the best/cheapest place to get them***
Thanks for the input, I actually like these tails just going to tint them, as well as the 3rd brake light. I just have to get the courage to do them. I basically only have Sundays to work on the car and all the DIY stuff gets done then.
I am really actually surprised that people haven't hated on my DIY grill, I think it looks decent, however am looking forward to a VRD one.
So much I want to do w. so little time and $ lol.
Tint and Undercoat hopefully will be done this month, then TRD springs hopefully in June.
