okay so i just skimmed through most of the replies to this topic...so excuse me if i repeat anything that has already been said.

air filters are recommended every 9-15k miles, depending on driving conditions. 9k for severe, etc. i plan on chaning mine on my next oil change, since i'm only at 8k miles.

cabin air is recommended about every 15-20k, you can find these easily at any autopart store, and they are located behind the glove box, just unlatch the clips on both sides and vioala. however the tC doesn't come factory with a cabin air filter.

Now tire rotations are recommended with every 5k miles, and balance them every 10k or so.

also with every oil change, you should check your power steering, antifreeze, transmission, and brake fluids, make sure they're at the appropriate level.

as far as trannies go, service an automatic about every 30k miles, and flush it if it gets really dirty. on a manual transmission, i believe it's every 50k.

Toyota's extended life coolant is supposed to be serviced every 100k miles, but i've noticed it to start getting pretty grimey way before that.

i think i covered most of it, i don't want to sound like a professional or anything, cuz i'm not, i just work at a lube. but just wanted to summarize everything.

Just to add, they say an alignment every 12K even though I prefer every 1 year.

The drop-in filters need cleaning every 20K or so depending on conditions. 20K is usually the minimum according to K&N (i know b/c I have their product, i'm assuming trd isn't much different)

And you should of course have your head checked every 45K or 4 years, whichever comes first.

You should definitely get them balanced when you get them rotated at 5k.

This is a link to the Scion maintenance guide. You can download and print this out, it includes maintenance intervals and what should be done service wise.

FWIW, the air filter isn't due for a change until 30k. If you have 33K on your car, I think it suggests the following:
1. Air filter (engine air filter)
2. Oil and filter change
3. Rotate tires

They also have an interactive manual here which is pretty cool:

my wife just had her car in for the airbag recall. While it was in they said she needed to have her injectors cleaned, which they quoted $230; and her steering fluid was getting bad and needed to be flushed, and quoted $89.99 for that. She has 31k miles on it. I'm thinking both are total bs. I'm going to check her power steering fluid to see if it needs to be topped off. does anyone know what type of fluid to use, and if it actually needs to be flushed? As for the injector cleaning does anyone have any suggestions for that as well?

Check the manual on the power steering. I would bet money it doesn't need to be changed/flushed until at least 60K miles if at all.

Injector cleaning is also something done on a much higher mileage car. You can buy additives for fuel injection system cleaningover the counter at an autozone or pepboys or (insert other autoparts store) that work pretty well. I use to sell parts many years ago (~10), and this stuff was pretty good:
