I dont think choosing to leave your windows up/down or ac on makes a huge impact either way, so you should really just do what you enjoy and not fret over small change. Personally in the fall transition to winter I sometimes drive around with my sunroof open and the heat on, I like the mix of air, why not enjoy driving the way you like when it comes down to a few pennies...

Jeez I took a trip to Cape Cod, about 275 miles and used 1/2 tank of gas and it was Mobil Regular Unleaded. I also had the AC on, car completely filled with luggage and a roof rack on (also slammed and on 18" Advans).

but putting it in 5th as early as 30mph could actually kill your mileage

yeah one thing to add, definitely do an oil change after using 44K, it is a petroleum based product and it tends to clean the cylinder walls too, it can mix with the oil and dilute it. Best thing to do, is go down to 1/4 tank of gas, pour 44k in the tank, fill up til it clicks off, run that through the tank, fill up a 2nd time, run that through, then get an oil change.

I'm one that has used 44K since I was trying everything to clean out the engine I had before, nothing would work. til I found this stuff. Actually a dealer was using it to clean the throttle body/intake manifold as part of a carbon cleaning. Now I just use one can of 44k every 15k miles and no more issues.

I never liked those additives either, always thought they were "snake oil" until I finally had trouble and had to use something. and yeah I hate to always sound like a commercial about 44K just happy to help a fellow tC owner.

Most speed limits around here are 55mph.

I'm usually always in 4th gear in the city, dropping it in 5th permitting.

I average in the mid 30's for mileage.
