Default possible hydrolock?

so it rained pretty bad saturday morning on my way to school and it was early enough so that it was still kind of dark. anyways, i drove into a puddle i initially did not think it was that deep because visibility was poor. i was going kind of slow because i had just taken off from a red light. my car dies in the middle because it turns out the that section of the street was flooded up to the curb. I have the gfi mod so i'm assuming its very possible to suck up water and like an idiot i tried to start the car again a few times thinking i just stalled out. no dice. after pushing the car out of the water i open the hood to check out my intake box. the filter is wet and i can see water in the bottom of the box. i get it towed home and im too scared to try start it again. i searched around these forums and google and it seems that im supposed to pull the plugs out and then try to start the car? im not sure i need some advice. i know i will be flamed for being an idiot and ive been kicking myself a lot. i really need some advice. please help!

You're going to want to change your oil too.

Ok so am I supposed to changs my oil first then try pulling plugs? Also should I pull the plugs one by one? I saw some vids on YouTube it seems they had all the plugs out. Sorry if the questions seem stupid I just want to be sure and not mess up the car more! Thanks for the help guys!

Take all the spark plugs out and turn the engine over a couple of times. You might want to let it sit a day or 2 and do that a few times. Chances are you'll be able to get it started, after that just do an oil change.

Im on the second oil change and it seems less milky now. However it idles higher than normal and it kind of surges a bit after start up but stops when the car is completely warmed up. Also there seems to be a good amount of smoke coming from the radiator area :/

This is was u do did u let it sit for a while after sucking up the water? Run a oil cleaner system for about 10-15 mins, then use cheap oil until u ready use ur regular oil. The white smoke coming out of the tail pipe will go away. And ull be fine it happened to me months back.

The car will always idle higher when you first start it up, and then drop to normal when it is at operating temp. That is normal! hopefully everything is okay but it seems like it will be.

Toss some rice in the cylinders, it will soak up the water and just be shot out the exhaust. Kind of the same concept as a wet phone in rice.

Please do not do that, it was a joke.
