If that's the case and they don't offer that discount to every one else looking at a tC with identical equipment , the dealer violated their dealer agreement with Scion and if someone complains to Scion they could lose in the long run

Have you read this topic at all?

The dealer can't give you a discount on the car itself but they can give u a discount on accessories right? Like a free set of mats or somtin.

They're not even supposed to do that unless they do it for everyone.

I don't know, have you found another quality coupe with sunroof, pwr windows and locks, keyless entry, mp3 CD player, aux or iPod connection, 4 wheel ABS, double wishbone suspension, cruise, and 161 hp for less than 18k?

The reason everyone is paying different prices is because some dealerships mark up the cars past what they're supposed to. The dealerships are allowed to do that; however, they can't sell it below the "pure price" that Scion sets. The easiest way to determine what the "real" pure price is would be to go to the scion website... build your Scion the way you want it according to your Zip Code. Once you do that, print off the sheet and take it to your local dealership and ask for that car. That way you know you're getting the true pure price. Hope this helps out!

Actually, that's not really true. The definition of "pure price" is as follows: Transaction price = advertised price. If someone advertises a tC with a $5000 adendum sticker, then that tC should sell for $5000 over MSRP (and the buyer should have a CaT scan ). There are no discounts from advertised price allowed within the Scion Universe. None.

I love it when somebody can phrase something better than I tried to ... one of the things that Scion hammered on is that the dealer has to sell the vehicles for what is marked on the car and/or posted on the DEALER's website and that includes accessories... If this is not the case, Scion can penalize the dealer by withholding cars.

i think the pure price of the tc is a very fair price and only becomes a "rip-off" if you order a lot of their accessories and upgrades. save some money and do them youself after you get it home.
