It'll work. I put an S2000 button into my prelude. You did need to put the keys in and push in the clutch which did make more work but I did it for looks cuz I used to show that car. I used the cigarette lighter on that. On the TC you also could use the lighter. Slight fabrication may be needed to make it bigger but the ring on the button will cover any imperfections of cutting.

Wow- i would love a push starter, even if the key is required, which I think is the case with a lot of push start cars anyway. there's just something really cool about it...

You know, with the Altima, you have to have the key fob on you but you dont have to get it out for anything. As long as its in your pocket, purse etc. you just come up to the door, push the button on the handle, open, push brake and tap button. Its baaaaaaad.

What if there was a way to make the imobilizer reciever stronger so that you could have the key in your pocket or anywhere inside the cabin and be able to start the car. Right now the key must be in the ignition for the key to even recognize. I'm sure someone could think up a way to boost the reciever to do this. I dont know how the imobilzer works exactly but if its just like an antenna deal have a peice of wire slightly sticking out of the ignition and, in theory, it could be possible for the imobilizer to recognize the key. Just a quickie suggestion. I dont know if it would be possible to do something like alot of nissans or most every luxury car where just touching a door with the key within a foot unlocks the door, since theres no signal beng continously transmitted from the key.

I'm confused..which car requires you to have it slightly in the ignition?

someone here used a S2000 button and fit it into the cig adaptor hole. it looked pretty good. i've been wanting to do it for a while but never got around to it.

i found this a while back and saved it to my computer

With after market push button start systems the key is required because the car isn't "looking" for the key (or the key looking for car) like the Altima or Mercedes do. So what the plan would be would be to get the car to look for the key, so then it would act as if it is already in the ON position, instead of putting the key there.
