Default Queston about sport pedals for TC

Hi everyone,
I got a gift card from Toyota for $50, and was thinking about getting sport pedals for my TC (manual transmission), since there is nothing else below $100 appealing to me. Does anybody install them, is it a good idea to get them? Do you have any suggestions how should I use my $50 card?
Thanks a lot.

I have a gift card as well and that's probably what I'll be getting. Though I'm still considering the TRD Shift ****.

As for the pedals, install should be cake and I think they add a nice little touch to the interior since they pretty much match the rest of the trim on the center console and such.

they pretty much clip right on to the stock pedals.

as for me, i will be getting billet pedals from evolution-autodesign once they finish designing them and ship them to me.

Hey Maximus - which is it - do they fit over the stock pedals or do you slip the stock pedals off and these on? The only reason I don't have them now is that I thought they clipped to the top of the stock ones, thus adding a funny connection and some extra mass to the pedals. If you remove the stock ones and clip these on, I'm much more interested.

Does anyone have any pedals other than the OBX ones? Is there anything better?

Default Easy install OBX Pedals

Take off cluch (if 5 speed) and brake pedal covers. Start from bottom and slip on so that bottom and sides of lip on new pedal cover is in place. You are going to have to just muscle the rest of the pedal cover. Keep rolling the edges out until the cover is completly 100% in place. If not it will come off very soon. The Gas peadal slips over existing pedal and is a quick one. Do not use soap of any kind as this makes it impossible to get a good grip with your finger tips!!! Have installed about 100 of these!!!

I got my 05 with the pedals installed. They look nice, the only problem is you can't see them while driving and neither can anyone else. As far as I can tell they don't feel any different than rubber pedal covers. However, I still like the idea.

You don't need to see them while the car is in operation. I have them and when i open the door on the driver side to show my car off to my friends, they see them and are reminded of the Lexus IS300. I also put the chrome IS300 shift **** to make it look even more like the lexus interior. All they need to do now is make a left foot stomp pad that is aluminum instead of plastic.

As for install, if it takes you more than 10 mins to take the pedals out of the package, remove the old ones, and slip the new ones on... there might be something wrong with you.

Most ebay retailers for scion accessories will also accept scion gift cards and the cost of the items are usually far more cheaper and are the exact same product.

Here's a post on my thoughts on my tC, it includes a link to pics including the pedals. I really only got them because they look really sweet with the LED Interior lights.

I also recently received my $50 Gift Card.

The best item I've found under $100 is the Tanabe Sustec Strut Tower Bar:

http://www.newscionparts.com/product/?id=1775

$83 - $50 = $33 for a Strut Tower Bar!

This site looks to be a sponsor(?) of Scion Life and accepts the card for online orders.

I'd like sport pedals too, but I don't like the OBX ones that the dealership sells (not fond of the raised rubber nubs). Does anyone know where I can find the kind of racing pedals with the holes in them?
