Default Range of driver side seat height adjustment?

I finally got to sit in a tC at the Motortrend car show today in Baltimore- I ended up really falling in love with the car after getting to examine it in person. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the headroom- I'm fairly tall, 6'0" but a lot of my height is the length of my back. My head was pretty darn close to the roof (or even touching) unless I tilted the seat back further than I'm used to.

I did a search and found out that the seat has height adjustment (which I didn't notice today when I sat in it.) My question is, how much can I lower the seat from its highest position (a number in inches if at all possible ) I'm assuming that the seat was probably not down all the way, heck it was probably up near the top of its range.

On a side note, I sat in a Tiburon (yah I know its a Hyundai, but I like the design) and I had the same problem, only MUCH worse- I had to crick my neck or slouch way down to fit in that car. Guess that strikes that one off my "possible buy" list

I don't have any specific numbers to answer your question, but I'm 6'6" and with the seat at its lowest position I have enough head clearance (not a ton, but enough).

Well that's still a good answer, as you're half a foot taller than me. Do you have to recline the seat back pretty far, or is that in a mostly upright position?

I recline it so the headrest is one notch past the rear edge of the door opening...if that makes sense. That way I'm still mostly upright, but far enough from the steering wheel to be comfortable.

Hey someone else that reads messageboards in the morning That makes sense to me, I think that is more upright than I was reclining it yesterday to give myself enough headroom. So I think I'll fit just fine in this car.

lol 99% of my posting happens at work, particularly in the morning before my boss gets in.
