Default remote starter security system?

i ordered my tc last weekend... and i didn't get the scion security thingy

so...i m still thinking...that...should i get a remote starter security system on my tc later?
or there is better options for tc's security?

if u didn't get the scion security..the dealer just gonna give u a plain key ? or there is a remote control for doors?

and my dad said it would on fire if something wrong with the wires...i think he was just try to scare me .............maybe

just a key...you don't get keyless entry unless you pay for it. They have them on all the cars on the lot but then remove it. It's not a standard feature.

yes, keyless entry comes standard on the tc. and scion security sucks, get an aftermarket system for cheaper and better

Remote starters don't harm the vehicle unless installed wrong, or if you have a manual transmission and someone left it in gear when you use the remote start. I haven't heard anyone complain about remote starts. Something that a lot of people don't realize is that you have to give up a key in order to get the remote start to work (to bypass the engine immobilizer).

A lot of the aftermarket car alarms have a lot of options and remote start is one of them.

Viper 791XV is my favorite... and WAY more features than the "Scion Security" which is somewhat of a joke security wise...

I wouldn't mind getting the new Viper GPS system. Instead of the key fob beeping when the alarm goes off, you can get a text message, email, and/or phone call. And you can call a number or get online to check the status and start the car. You can also track your own vehicle if someone steals it. Lots of really cool features.

Cool... but pricey... the 791 still lets you know when you're inside or such, and is a well priced setup... I see that setup more than any other alarm wise no-a-days

one word... SCYTEK, my personal favorite security system, i got this little window on my key fob that when someone tried to break into my car it vibrated and i looked at it and it showed live video of the person cause there was a little camera in the headliner.... and to answer ur other question, a remote start wont do a thing to ur car unless u use it wrong or its installed wrong, but the other guy was right, the tC's key has a little chip in it and you need a bypass to make them work, your local shop can fix that tho,

ok a friend of mine jus got an alarm/remote start installed about a week ago. ever since the install the check engine light has been on. he will take it back to the guy, but cant do it right away. is there anything he should be worrying about. its prolly a misplaced wire or so, wat should he expect? his been riding like that for a week and prolly wont be able to get it fixed for another 2 weeks or so. he said so far no problems with the car, the engine light is jus on. is this bad???

Your friend has to see what the code actually is before we can say it's bad or not. Pepboys, Advance Auto, Autozone, et al will be able to read the CEL for free.

The security they sell you sucks! Purchase a Python 881xp with all add ons, + battery backup/extra horn key to disarm. that should help you out a lot more if you dont have a garage to store the TC

^ Hah, my neighbor has 3 60's Corvettes, a BMW M series and two other BMW's. I think there is zero chance of my car getting knocked. LOL.

I would give a go on a remote start on a automagic car. I said no to the remote on the standard becuase I park my care in gear. If I forget, my car will start jerking in the parking lot.
Im sure you dont want that to happen
