Default removing black stuff around door windows...

this is going to be hard to describe due to the fact that i don't have a camera and i am currently intoxicated out of my mind, but here it goes.

on the inside of the door, on the top corner. it looks as if there is some vinyl adhesive stuff. it wraps around to the outside of the door to the edge of the window. i'm guessing there is just perty paint right underneath of it. i thought i saw a picture of a tc somewhere with it removed. searched and cannot find it. i think it would look good and be an easy $0 mod.

i was curious if it is removed, is painted underneath? does it look good? any bad side affects to doing this? a picture would be wonderful if some one has indeed done this.

thanks.

You can check this out:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3955

This is the procedure for the xa and the xb and I am assuming is the same thing for the TC. If you do this make sure to post pics!

Hope This helps! :D :D

someone should do this and post pics. I'd love to see what a white tC looks like after this is done.

There is a reason for this black vinyl - helps the car "flow", eliminates the break between the windows. On some cars cheaper trims don't have vinyl - do you think they do it because they want cars that cost less look better? Your car...

i thought about doing it... but realized that it will look horrible...cuz the rear window seams will have "chopped offed" look especially on lighter color car like mine.

anyone worried about the vinyl on these pieces becoming discolored/bubbling over time?
