Typically a new full use key is about $100 from the dealer.

And about the flip keys, you can make anything happen with a little ingenuity.

First off, the keyblade is going to have to match the Toyota key, so in that regard no. Mercedes and VW use a different keyblade that is etched in the middle so its harder to copy. Mazda MAY have a key blade that will work, or you can get a generic toyota flip key and try to replace the keyblade of the Mazda/mercedes/VW. Or you can use the toyota flip key but it will have no FOB attached.

Second, you cannot reprogram a FOB as a customer. You might be able to learn a Toyota or lexus key to the scion, but you will not be able to program a non Toyota Brand key to the tC. Nor can you reprogram any non Toyota FOB to work with the tC. And not all Toyota fobs will work with the tC anyway.

Third, Assuming you do #1, you will have to work around the immobilizer. You can get an immobilizer bypass for the car and solve this problem. what happens is they stick the immobilizer coil from the keyfob near the actual immobilizer so the car thinks a real key is always there. If you do this you can start the car with any non-immobilizer key.
To get the flip key and have an immobilizer you will have to
A. Try and put the electronics of the tC keyfob into the new fob
B. Glue the tC fob onto the new flip key

Putting the electronics into a new key will be extremely difficult because buttons won't like up and the case of keyfobs are usually form fit with no room.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Just think, for every little thing on a car(and i mean every little thing) there was some poor bastard engineer that was worked to death because he had to make sure it worked in any circumstance. And that includes working when the left indicator is on, the anti-locke brakes are working, the car is traveling at 35.879457MPH and a kid shoots a free-throw halfway around the world.

Iam unfortunatly one of those engineers...
And I swear that if that kid misses his free-throw your UNLOCK button isn't going to work in that instance

Props. I love learning, and it's even better when the person knows what they're talking about!
