Roll Back on Hills

Roll Back on Hills
Does the tC with automatic transmission roll back on hills at all? My dad's Accord (with AT) rolls back ALL THE TIME. So does my mom's Volvo, but not as much. My Mazda doesn't roll back at all, it sometimes rolls forward... Driving in San Francisco, this is kindof a big issue LOL

well damn! how much time does it take you to move your foot 6 inches? it's not like by the time you press gas, you're gonna hit the guy behind you..
and in my AT Corolla, I NEVER had any roll back...

you can always hold the brake with your left foot and hover your right foot over the gas. as far as giving it gas and breaking, there's nothing wrong with that. you're not going to tear up our tranny by giving it just a little gas so you dont roll back.

anyway, to me, the reason it rolls back is because there's not enough (engine) power..
not saying that my corolla is a power plant, but I'd pick one up anyday before I look at a civic...I was gonna get teh corolla XRS but when I was toyota.com I saw a small link that said "scion.com" and that changed my life (or at least the choice of a new car)... the tC!!! lol

Depends on how you drive it...
Almost all AT cars that I drive I use the brake when I am uphill... Then while the brake is still on I give it gas so I don't roll back... Usually ends up in smooth acceleration ;p
Other times when I feel... Bored I will usually match the amount of gas I need to keep the car from not moving... (But it uses more gas)... But I save my brake lights! lol...
Pretty simple solution to a stupid problem ;p
