if it is really cold, or maybe you have alot of electricals draining the power.
don't know how much of a problem it is, means your consuming more gas at idle than normal. shouldn't be to ohard to address.

Well it could be a few things for you. I dont know how many miles you have on the car or anything like that but a vacuum leak could also cause a fluctuation in your rpms. I dont know if its a good idea or even whether or not its entirely related but I have had to turn the idle up/down on cars before, I wouldn't recomend just diving right into that option until you've exhausted your troubleshooting.

If it is STAYING at that RPM, then you might. If it is just up there for a minute or so while the engine gets up to temp, you shouldn't be concerned at all. I don't really pay attention to mine when it does it, but it definitely goes up above normal idle if the engine is cold.

Awesome, I just corrected the tach needle calibration, and next I'm going to get some MAF cleaner.
Great instructions for removing the gauges and setting the needle on the LEDmod.com link

With the non-running engine putting the needle exactly at zero now, it's little rough around 600 rpm after the engine heats up, smooth at 750. The engine management seems to sense this and sends it up to 750, intuitively.
I expect that this will get even better with a clean MAF sensor. I'll report back.
Thanks for your help everyone, it's been a huge plus!

actually depending on the climate......i read when its reallty cold to put the key on the on position for about 2-4 secs then start it this will allow the fuel pump and the injectors to start..cause if you just start it right away il quickly jump to around 2000-2100 rpm if you do it quick...but normally have it on the on postion for a few secs turn it on ill jump to 2k rpm for a second or two then idle at 1500 then go down as the car warms up
