i've driven two honda's (my friends acura rsx type s and my brothers 98 civic dx) and they're clutches are really unforgivable and feels like it can catch on pretty much anywhere... my friend in the rsx had a little trouble learning the clutch on the tC because it caught on at a certain point and was really smooth. its like switching from briefs to boxers.. it feels a little wierd, but you just gotta get used to it

Quoted for great justice. I've got a 67 Bug in addition to my tC and it's night and day difference with the clutches. The bug has a cable operated 1700lb pressure plate clutch setup and the Scion is hydralic I believe.

If I drive either one for a decent amount of time I have to get used to it again. Like this weekend with the bug, I had not driven it in a few months (winterised for the short rainy season here) and I brought it off the jack stands (keeps the tires from getting flat spots) this weekend to clean it up and take it to a show and it felt so odd.

who cares...it's better that it stalls, than not stalling and doing more damage...thats why the engine stalls out like that, it's a safety feature.
i let my friends drive my tC, i'm fine with it as long as they don't roast the clutch or grind gears

My personal rule is this: They can drive it only if they can buy you a new one, that day.

Here are my rules regarding cars...
1.Never let anyone besides maybe your parents drive your car.
2. Never drive anyone else's car(unless its a rental)

no, bring it up to 7000 RPM and dump the clutch.

I don't plan on giving the keys to my new tC to any of my friends. The Toyota/Scion dealership is right down the street from where i live.

My friends aren't that big into cars, thankfully. I have one friend who appreciates cars like we do. I'd let him drive it with me in it, but I don't think I'd let him borrow it unless it was a very special occasion or something. He has decent insurance so no big worries. Most of my friends would just want to ride in it, some would even be scared to drive it since they can't drive stick.
