Default Sacramento tC owners...

...how's the AC faired with the heat we've had this week?

Everyone's read the comments that the AC is a weak link, and I'm just curious what your impressions have been with the temps we've been experiencing.

Thanks in advance!

it does feel kinda weak compared to my other car.. took a while to cool down.. I think it could be because of the dark interior..

Default Weak air conditioning

I think all the talk about weak air conditioning is a matter of people not starting using the recirculating button. I picked up my tC today at Maita Scion and I had to turn it down going up I-80 past Auburn as I felt too cold. Too cold not too weak.

Might i mention a jealous jetta owner couldn't even keep up.

what time did you picked up your scion? when I test it the ac today the outside temp saids 100 degrees.. right around 5pm.. and yes i did use the recirculate button.... hmm.. difference of opinions here...

the car i'm comparing to is my old 92 lexus es300.. where i always just leave it at the lowest and it cools down really fast..

The air conditioner is comparable to my 2003 Civic EX. It is not as good as the 1999 Nissan Altima I had though and the altima had a 2.4 150 horsepower engine. Weaker than the Scion TC. For some reason Nissan makes awesome air conditioners and stereos in their cars.

Ok, I realize that I'm not in Sac, Tracy, Fresno or any of the surrounding areas of Sac but I am close to you guys. I live in San Jose, and today was the first day I used my A\C. Let me tell you, its a real dissapointment. I realize that the car only cost about 16.5 if you bought early but I didn't think that the A\C unit would be what was skimped on. I'm really really dissapointed. I was doing 75 to 80 on 680 and my car was just not cooling down. Sometimes if felt as if it was blowing warm air. Its good to know that its not just me.

Well i'm stilling waiting on my tC to come in at Maita. I don't even have A/C in my car so even if it's weak I won't notice because when I get into my car after class I start sweating the second I get into it.

I hate Valley Weather.

The AC is actually quite cold when the condensor has been running for a couple minutes. There is actually a service bulletin in which the dealer will increase the amount of refrigerant from 400 oz. to 430 oz. and it's all covered under warranty. It is TSB AC008-04.

the post also asks for Sacramento tC owners not Connecticuit..... im just puttin that out there

I was born and raised in Sac but ive been in Ancorage, AK the last 4 years due to the Air Force. Ill be back in Sac for good come this July. So I havent really needed the AC yet, so im hopin it works for me once i get back, especially in July.

Ill be driving from alaska to sacramento, its about 3000 miles , so this is gonna be a good long distance test for my tC.
