scion tc to be biggest "pimping" ever
news here ladies and gents. it seems the show street fury on G4 (network usually devoted to video games) will be taking a scion tc, and according to marketing efforts, this should be the most amazing tc we have ever seen! big words, considering pioneer installed a 50" elite plasma in one already.

good luck to g4 and street fury. i know i will be "tuneing" in to see if they think of something interesting to do to the car!
it will air december 17th, 2006 at 2pm eastern. check it out! i would love to hear the "it ruled, heres why..." with the "it sucked because..."
later!

Yeah, I get pretty turned off by it. And that is the second worst part of the "tuner" culture in my opinion ("tuner" shops and other inexperienced people arguing/producing mods they dont even fully understand is the worst part).
That is why I still love the classics so much. There are so many more knowledgable, tasteful people building those (compare foose's full time shop to "gimp my ride" for example). I love to see something done custom, but thought out and actually engineered rather than slapped together to produce the "bling" factor. Custom sheet metal vs slap on body kits, solid engine building vs slap on and blow up your motor modding, guys knowing how the engine really works vs people who know if they bolt X on Y might happen, actually taking the entire cars looks into consideration before adding something vs "wow, this wing and kit looked good on that car, I will make it work on mine regardless of whether it all fits together cosmetcially".
Not much for the un-useable, un planned, poorly engineered crap that so many people build. I like to see details all thought through, down to how many mm of gap is present between all panels and whether they all match. That is show quality imo.
But who knows, they might come up with one, maybe two neat smaller ideas to use in a nice looking car. That green thing was hideous through and through, not to mention the heavy as sin add ons (tv for one) and no power mods to make up for it.

yeah, the pioneer car was pretty ugly, but i have a pioneer plasma, and a tC... so the 2 coming together is AMAZING! just so i can explain my love for that custom fab...
in closing however, i wish i had more people with the passion you do about our cars arond me, engifineer, and i do not think i have read anything so resonating on this forum before. trolling around on the forums, i see previews for such s*** products that add nothing but bling. I think the same thing, but i have never been able to put it into words as well as you just did.

yea... Pioneer though does have a scion fixed up.. (a porsche red xB they lug around to shows)
but it doesn't have much compared to the car's they helped put together with FiveAxis (the DJ xB and the xA roadster being the other 2 main ones)

xbox 360 controller in hand and a scion tc waiting to pounce on him like a puma...leads to gigantic plasma screen somewhere on the windshield or of that nature.
I like the xA roadster. But I hate almost everything big shops do to our cars. I look for practicality in a vehicle. Am I ever going to need a 42" plasma screen in my hatch when I am always facing the road? Do I need to take off my steering wheel and attach a gaming wheel so I can play games in my car? I was blown away by just the cup holders in the back. Everything else is just rediculous.
Performance/Under the hood modification...love it. Anything that makes the "STEAL ME" sign any more obvious...I'm going to bed bath and beyond and "pimping" my bed, bath, and well beyond.

im busy that day so ill prolly just record it just for fun.. haha.
it could also be some type of projectile launcher that about 2 seconds after this pic was taken shot out at the guy for all the drama that the car went through in being "pimped"

I had a chance to meet "Big C" (who's real name is Carlton) at SEMA this year. Both Mike Ma and I were interviewed for Street Fury since they were building their own Scion this year. I didn't see our interviews in the SEMA coverage show they did - maybe they will be on this one?
In any case... he's a really mellow dude off camera - then all of a sudden when they say action he's one of the most ghetto people I've ever met. Would serve his interest more to just be a genuine, mellow, laid-back guy like he is off camera, IMO...
