Default Scion tC Side View Mirror Question

Like an idiot I backed out of my garage and hit my side view mirror. Luckily, I hit it soft enough so only the mirror shattered, the body of the side view is still intact. I can still electronically adjust the panel so all I need is a mirror. Does anyone know where I can just buy a mirror cause I know the entire Side view set is like 200 bucks. Thanks

TRDSparks is your friend! They have an OEM parts search that pretty much allows you to replace every part on our Scions.

$28.70 for the mirror glass.

Sorry if this is a dumb question...I broke my mirror too backing out of my driveway and just got my replacement mirror from Sparks in the mail. Do you just pop off the mirror and clip the old one in? I've tried prying it out but it didn't budge. I don't want to break anything. For clarification, this is just the glass, not the whole sideview mirror.

the whole plastic piece that the glass sits in pops off. i had to do it when my mirror broke. should just pop off if you pull hard enough. there is a "socket" on the back of the glass and a 'ball' on the motor. it takes a little umph to pull it off

I didn't want to risk starting another post on this topic, but I had a follow up question and it's related to this thread.

In my scenario someone (presumably on a bike) road into my side view mirror (driver's side). They left a dent and it looked like they bent the mirror (casing and all) outwardly..

Top View

I was browsing the TRDsparks.com items and found the replacement part .. & even the installation instructions

To access those 3 10mm nuts holding the mirror in place, do you just pop off that triangular plastic piece on the corner of the door? Or do you need to pry the entire interior door out?

Also, as you can see from the door, the biker ran into the mirror casing only, and it left that V-shaped gap (visible on the Top View photo). If it's hard to see in the photo, I'd describe it as the front part of the mirror casing coming off the base that connected it to the car because it was impacted with force from the outside.

The mirror and the casing are in tact, sans the protrusion outwards. I can still adjust the mirror electronically, but I'm worried buying a new mirror won't be worth it if the base the mirror was connected to was bent outwardly like the mirror..

What do you guys think? is it just the mirror that's bent out, or the base it was connected to also?

If you have any advice, I'd be appreciative.

p.s. I tried to speak with someone at the dealership and they quoted me at 375$ (parts alone). pp.s I was viewing the TRDsparks site and the only replacement parts I found were for 2006 scions. I have a 2005, will the 2006 parts still work?

hey i was driving my gf's tc about a week ago and some A-HOLE biker decides hes going to weasel his way threw bumper-2-bumber traffic and in the process completely riped off the passenger side mirror and left nothing but the motorized part connected with a wire. well the damage is under 500$ so shes screwed the insurance wont cover it and it will cost as much as 300$ to install and replace it. im not cool with that so any help or references will be appreciated and hopefully save her some money.(i will post pictures soon)

The mirror assembly is only $155 from TRD sparks: http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...7&parts_id=965

You can install this yourself - It is very easy. Pop out the plastic from the inside of the door and take out the 3 screws holding it on. Plug in the new one and bolt it on - 5 minutes later and $150 bux all done
