Default SCIONT TC BAZOOKA SUBS PLZ READ RITE NOW FOR YOUR SAKE

OK iono HOW MANY people got this but am i the ONLY ONE who is NOT SATISFIED?

no seriously. I think the tC stock speakers have more bass than the stupid bazooka crap. I was so ____ed off. I expected the "BAZOOKA" to blow my mind away but i wanted to throw up on it.

If you want to spend $350 + tax + labor fees. then go ahead but its really not worth it.

i jsut got it today and not happy @ all

HOWEVER the blue interior lights are sexy as well as the door sills*

*thnx mcgeorgeparts

Really? Hmm.. I have the Bazooka sub and am happy with it. I'm not an audiophile or anything, but the sub seemed to compliment the speakers very well.

To some it will not be enough bass. Those who know this, already know the scion asking price is a joke. For that you could have a bass system built & blow the bazooka out of the water. Do you really think factory option bazooka is going to cause parts to rattle more then some ppls do

I didnt get the bazooka after hearing a co-workers system with it in. im gonna stick my own amp/sub in there. i am however very disappointed in the lack of adjustability with the stock head unit, which is why all of the music played sounds like it has to much bass.

Try a different car setting like the xA set to SSP Nuetral. That doesn't sound all that bassy.

Anyway, the sub does seem expensive to me, but then I don't buy speakers for cars very often (though I'd like to in the distant future). I don't understand the whole rattle thing though. What's so appealing about that? So your car sounds like a piece of junk ready to fall apart (and I would think that all that extra heavy virbration caused by some of the subs out there probably isn't great for long term structural integrity especially on the interior) and you annoy other drivers. I really don't get it. I LOVE bass, however it should be musical not like someone did a karaoke mix on all sounds but bass. Otherwise, why even listen to songs? Just find a CD with bass sound effects so your car can sound like a shaking can of nails driving down the road and make people roll their eyes at you.

If your car sounds really bad. Your dealer may have done like mine and turned the sub all the way up. It sounds much better if you adjust the dial on the back of the sub to 50%. also, hold in the SSP button for about 5 seconds and use the volume control to switch from tc to xA. You will probably like that a lot better.. In my xA. I have the sub at 50% in the back, with bass at 0 on the headunit and treble at +3. You still get enough bass to feel it vibrate your chest, but all the other tones sound much better.

I do agree that the bazooka cost too much for what you get, but hey, you never know until you try something...

eeyoredragon, first of all i do not find anything appealing about shaking myself or my car to death.

second, i did use the ssr feature.

as i stated before, i heard the stock tc bazooka and wasnt pleased. its my own personal preferance. i already have a 12" dual voice coil sony xplod sub and enclosure. my main gripe was not that it didnt shake my filling out, but that i wasnt happy with the amount of adjustability, so that i can set the music where i enjoy listening to it. what i dont get is, that just because im not going with the stock sub you ASSUME that all i want to do is listen to bass? before you assume anything about me you better know me first. i actually enjoy clarity and the ability to tailer the music i listen to for me, and not to annoy others with my music. and YES! i do have a collection of bass music ranging from 20 - 50hz. most of the time i dont have the radio turned up very high so that i can listen to the motor and exhaust cause its still a new and great sound.

Well, speaking of assuming, the only reason I quoted you was to suggest the audio setting. The second paragraph (and that's why I separated it) wasn't directed at you ;)

Are you sure it's on? It seems that you didn't install it yourself. You might want to pull the cover off and confirm two things:
1) That the green power light is on when the car is on.
2) That the adjustment **** is set around the middle.

I like lots of bass (for ME to hear/feel, not the people three cars away from me,) and my only complaint is that the tC Bazooka isn't as tight as a sealed box. Still, for the money and the amount of volume it produces, I love it. I usually listen to my music around 30-35 (or higher with the windows open) and I have my treble at +2 and bass at -4. I also wired a switch to the remote lead on mine so I can turn it off when listening to talk radio or whatever. I've also tried listening to music with it off, and comparing to the same music with it on. I can tell you, it makes a huge difference.

Bass matters most to me...Weather or not the bazooka is a good sub, to me, it's only an 8" woofer...that's tiny...
for 350 to top it off too...

I spent 540 on 2x 12" 2x 1200 watt amps, 2x 1 F caps, and a box...that's 540 for all that...that equals around 15-20 lil bazookas...

the bazooka box is as big as my head...for a sub to need that little airspace, it can't be that strong...

It's definately not going to be like a custom system you would get from a stereo shop, but a bazooka tube should definately give you some noticable bass.

If you don't think it's worth $350, you'll probably think it is worth the $148 you can get it for by not buying it from scion.

It is a well known fact that anything Bazooka makes is ____!

What would be nice is if they sold just the box (cuz it fits so damn nice) for the left and right sides, and you could put your own subs in there rather then the crap that bazooka makes.

A) It's a 10", not an 8".
B) The box is much bigger than my head, so either your head is really big, or you're wrong about the size of it.
C) Lots of 12" subs only need a couple cubic feet or less, so the airspace in the tC enclosure seems right to me. It's probably close to 1.5 cubic feet.

The OEM tC Bazooka is certainly not for you. Personally, if I was never going to put any shopping bags or flat-packed furniture in th eback on my tC, I would probably have some bigger enclosure with bigger subs and more power. I'm sold on the fact it impoves the sound quality of the stock stereo and doesn't take up too much space. Plus it's a custom fit fiberglass enclosure (with amp and driver) for under $300. If I decide sometime to chuck the driver and amp and replace them, it's still a bargain.

We're not talking about Bazooka tubes here.
