Default Shortshifters

Hey guys and gals...I've been on this site searching for any stuff related to Short Shifter Reccomendations...I've been looking at the one from TWM Performance, B&M, and creative compacts....I was wondering if any of you guys have these...and how does it feel?...I'm basically looking for a shorter throw which most of these provide..but im also looking for a notchy-ness where gears are easily defined....thanks in advance.

All the aftermarket shifters - except the TRD - replace the stick only. The TRD replaces the base and stick. Notchiness or smoothness will essentially be the same between the 3 because they all do essentially the same thing. The TRD is a complete replacement unit which replaces the whole ____er base. Thats why it costs so much more. I have the B&M and love it. It has a very solid positive feel but it also doesnt lower the height of the shifter ****. It comes with bushings to raise the shifter base to make the **** sit at the stock height. The TWM & CC sticks do not come with these bushing so your **** will sit lower. The TRD will keep stock **** height with shorter throws, but it has the least reduction in throw length.

If you're going to do the stick only, the B&M will only drop the height of the stick 1/2", but will shorten the throw 30%. TWM will make the stick substantially shorter and the throw will be reduced about the same as the B&M. We have a special sale on the B& M's and the TRD's for the next couple of weeks. Just click on the blue 'specials' sign for a look.

I'd go with the TRD. The throw is shortened just enough, but the big difference is in the feel. It definitely bumps into each gear nicely, and makes driving my fiancé’s xA with the original shifter feel weird. I'd assume that TRD had the same design goal with their tC shifter.

I got the Perrin despite its obvious drasticly high price. I figured they must be giving you something for the $170. I could not be happier with it! It comes with the spacers so the **** can be at stock height, but the height is also adjustable, meaning the throw is adjustable. right now my shift from 1st to 2nd is literally 3.5 inches. (yes, i measured)

So the TRD is a complete shifter?
I've been looking at them on variuos sites, some referred to it as a kit and others didn't.

If anyone is interested, clubsciontc is running a raffle, and they offer the B&M. That should knock down the price .
Does anybody know if the short shifters are too short to the point where they are uncomfortable?

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you know that we are currently offering a special promotion for Scionlife members. For a limited time you can get additional $10 off of our tC shifter by entering the promotional code STCTWM during the checkout process. Shipping within the continental US and Canada is also free so the total shipped to you would be $114.95 USD.

Our shifter reduces throw by 35% and **** height by 2" resulting in a much more precise, sporty shift.

You can find all the details here and don't forget to enter your promo code!

Thanks,

Karel
