why not just have the bumper painted then have it put on the car??
Fitment. You generally always fit a bumper up to the car before having it painted. As long as you don't cruise around with the unpainted bumper for more than a week, in my book, it's all good.

Would you want to spend all the money and time on paint/supplies, (not to mention labor if your not spraying/wetsanding/buffing yourself), just to go put the part on your car and have fitment issues?

i know about the fitment deal. but to leave it on, if you can't get it done then, then wait until you can--imo. it's not hard to take off the bumper put the aftermaket on, make sure fitment is good, then put the stock back on. that's all my opinion though, to each it's own right.
