installed my HKS intake today and put back the stock wheels. i'm getting my tires flipped, so my SSR's will be back on later this week. the ride is so much more comfortable with the stock wheels/tires.

I understand why HKS intake uses the stock intake hose. The intake is bolted on with 3 brackets, which doesnt allow any play/give, so the flexibility of the stock hose absorbs engine vibration and movement. I used to an Injen intake 2 years ago, but the rattling and transmission bracket bending annoyed me (that was before Doc I's intake fender plate came out). Besides, I'm partial to HKS products LOL

its okay. i've only put around 15 miles on it so far. the piping is in 3 sections. combined with the 3 brackets there is alot of room for adjustment, but its a pain adjusting all those parts to make it fit right. its like having coilovers, its trial and error to get your ideal height at all 4 corners. the first 3 times i started the car with this intake, I heard a loud metal click sound when I let go of the clutch (only from starting the car, not there after). after the 4th start up, the sound went away. i'm going to recheck everything tomorrow.
in terms of performance, its the same as any other CAI. immediately i noticed a loss in low end and a gain in high end.
this intake was more of an impulse purchase when I saw the sponsored sale (cost me $190 with free shipping, but add $15 sales tax if youre in Cali like me). i wasnt looking to purchase an intake, but I dont have enough HKS parts on my car LOL. My previous cars were HKS'd out.

thanks for the comments.
if i had some really nice or unique to show off under the hood, I'd clean it. i've never cleaned the engine bay on this car, but I never show it off either.

you should paint your engine cover, it would really "dress" it up alot and would make it look pretty clean. I love your car and those rims are AMAZING!!!

nice job

hk I know this is off topic but on your apr front wind splitter, how many mounting options to they give for the support rods, and are the support rods even necessary? I think it might look cleaner without them. . .
