Default So the back piece of the trunk (garnish?) randomly broke off

The part of the trunk where the Scion symbol is located, and where you push the button to open the trunk...it randomly just broke off as I went to open the trunk I have no idea how this happened, but it basically broke off and even the clips broke off as well, for the meantime im holding it in place with clear tape...which makes me look like this emoticon . Anywhere know where I can purchase a carbon fiber one? Preferably something thats also easy to install (double sided tape?). Thanks guys.

That actually happens quite often. I've seen tons of people talk about here and I just saw a tC over last weekend with green painters tape holding it in place.

I don't think anyone makes a good fitting one yet..

Yeah, I lift my trunk like that too. No problems so far.. *knock on wood*

It doesn't seem to be flimsy either..

Well if you really want a carbon fiber one you can buy one here:

Good luck on fixing it.

I have not had problems. Its a trunk you dotn need to be rough with it. Is there maybe a conection via what model yr these cars are? Maybe thats the problem.

Just get carbon fiber, if that breaks, get a carbon fiber hatch. And when someone asks, just tell them you are trying to get better gas mileage. jk But wow, I didn't know that a new one was $120, doesn't seem so bad to get the CF for $175 then.
