well its an I4 (Inline 4)
its possible the 18 inch wheels made it seem like it was going slower than it actually does.
Those jettas are heavy, weighing around 3200lbs, and with only 180HP.
My friend Frank has a Jetta 1.8t and ive smoked him countless times.
Actually the 01s only had 150hp.
01 jetta 1.8turbo = 180hp / 17inch / no mod
05/06 tc 2.4L = 160hp / 18inch / no mod

Tell u the truth, i really love the look of the tC, but what you pay is what you get. The interior of the car really holds me back. too plastic feel.

Nissan Sentra
Which one ? B11/12/13/14/15

I would say the B15 SE-R 5-speed , because the Spec-V + 1 more gear = No way .

scion tC is about as fast/slow as a celica gt and the base rsx.

The jetta's 1.8t got a boost to 180 in 2002... along with the ones used in the GTI.

whaaaa???? I think the interior of the TC is freaking awesome compared to my friends 02 jetta 1.8t, his interior materials are garbage! BTW his car smokes me, but he has hella mods, hes running 14.6's with the tiptronic. I think the TC FEELS quicker than the base RSX (was gonna buy one, but Toyota offered better financing) but in reality its almost identical in performance. and Ive raced my friend in his 02 Celica GT (TRD exhaust, B&M short shifter) and beat him by about a half car lenght every time, except the one when I was breaking loose all the way through 1st and halfway through second, he walked me that time!

Tell u the truth, i really love the look of the tC, but what you pay is what you get. The interior of the car really holds me back. too plastic feel.

http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/N.../Act/Roadtest/

7.9 0-60 for the Manual 1.8T jetta sedan.

The tC does it in 7.5 so about 1 car length.

tC accelerating as fast as an IS300, sure. tC having similarities with an IS300, sure. tC being like an IS300, you are dillusional. The IS is superior in almost every way possible save for money. Strange, it costs only 2x as much as a tC...

"This car is pretty much like a Lexus, and with a turbo it will smoke any Lexus! Yay!" Come on now...

I would definately beat an automatic GT, the 5speeds are slightly faster then my tC, it's pretty much a drivers race.

00-05 5speed GT (or GTS) run a low 15 stock.. I ran a 15.2 in brandenton, it's very close if the GT is stock.
