So I opened my Radiator Cap...

The coolant is supposed to be pre-mixed for direct use. Brake fluid low too huh . . . keep an eye on the brake fluid. It goes down as the pads wear out so adding fluid will result in a spill when the new pads are installed if the mechanic doing it doesn't check the fluid level first. As the pads wear the hydralic piston in the wheels move outward to compensate for the wear and that makes the fluid level go down. When new pads are installed the pistons are pushed back into the cylinders and the fluid flows back to the reservoir.

Toyota has red and pink.
Some say the pink is a pre-mix, but I can't confirm.
Water cools better, and since you're in FLA, adding a little water instead of coolant is OK - as long as you don't always add just water.
I know folks that use 60/40 water to coolant in hot climates.
50/50 is safest, but check to see what the Owner's manual says - that's the bible for warranties.

50/50 mix is for getting the lowest freezing point which is about 30-40 below zero so no sweat. Ok on the brakes you know what is going on so that's the important thing. Yeah I heard that hard launches kick the brake light on and if you have an oil pump you might see engine oil pressure drop on high G turns too. Try not to take off too fast when the gas tank is low also and not too quick on the turns either.

(2) Straight water cools LESS well than a proper antifreeze mix.
(3) the owners manual and the service manual both say to use Toyota Pink Premixed.

Racers use water with a "wetter" or a small % of coolant because it cools better.
It's not good for the rest of us because we don't tear-down our engines and replace parts every weekend.
Also, water is safer for racetracks when the inevitable accident occurs - it's worse than ice.
A "Proper" mix can vary, depending on the vehicle/climate.
As I said, read the manual and follow it if you have doubts or concerns.
No argument there.

Yep, distilled water is what you want to use. Just buy it from the grocery store. Not drinking water, the jugs that say distilled on the front.
But if you are running the premix from toyota you dont need to worry about it.
And from my experience and knowledge, antifreeze mixed cools better than straight water. Race engines run hotter (They want them to) in most cases. And while a different amount of mix may work in different environments, a 50/50 mix is pretty much what you want all the time.

another thing to check is the radiator cap. the rubber gasket seperated from the metal cap and part of the gasket blocked the overflow caused higher pressures and the radiator was leaking coolant between the tank and radiator. warranty covered the new radiator because it failed the pressure test, new cap, coolant flush to get the rest of the gasket pieces out.

i had an intake but i took it off when i got my sc. sounds like a crappy dealer id go to a different one. i had the hatch rattle, dash rattle, and sunroof rattle. dealer wouldnt even look at them unless i paid $50. after several attempts to have them look with no success i ended up doing it myself. coolant leak wasnt something i could do myself though.
