Default So... someone decided to hit and run my tC in a parking lot.

Yep, some scumbag decided to hit my tC then leave. I was in the Mall for all of 20 minutes getting my cell phone plan suspended for my upcoming deployment and someone did this. 20 minutes. wow.

In over a year of ownership this is my first mark on the car. Damnit.

I'm guessing itll be like $750 to fix, and seeing as I have a $500 deductible, its not even worth it to make a claim.

Most likely didn't even notice when they hit you...

Its funny though, I haven't had a single problem on Base, I figured I would be in more trouble at my Barracks parking lot than anywhere. Nope, as soon as I go in public someone irresponsible does this..

actually, it looks like it was a truck or something, and theres no paint from the other vehicle so maybe a meatl bumper? If thats the case, Ty Max is probably right. They may not have even noticed.

that sucks dude, someone hit my dad's van pretty recently too... white paint transfer too... maybe these white cars are the ones we should watch out for haha, strangely enough.

Cost a little over $2000 to fix, but there was a lot more damage than you have.

OK, I have an idea.
Let's start a collection for the soldier and fellow tC owner!
Those bastards suck, and I for one will be happy to start the fund for you.

If you have a Paypal account post it.
If not, create one.

I am going to help a soldier out and I hope others will too.

I will start with $40 and see how it goes.

No, I'm not joking.

no,no,no

Thanks for the thoughts, but I can't accept it!

It really isn't the cost that angers me, its the whole principle of it.

Seriously though, you don't know how much that offer actually means to me. Being in the Army, I take a ton of flak from people sometimes. Yes, occasionally there are people that show graditude but alot of the time they act weird or scared around us. Again, I want to say thanks for that generous offer though, SciontCya

He said there was no paint transfer in this case. The marks in the photo are bare metal (from the FM paint being scraped off), not white paint.

I know it's the principle of it which is why I offer this to you.
I buy soldiers lunch when I'm out of the office, and the looks they give me at first are like WTF? Are you serious?

Yes, I am.
Why not accept it?
It's merely a token of appreciation for putting your ___ on the line for US.

Think about it...

Mall Parking Lot Security Cameras!

If it happened within the past week...you can inquire about getting the tape/seeing it.

Don't let hit and run drivers get away!

I had a hit and run happen to me within 2 months of owning the car and mine was the whole rear bumper. It cost 574 to get it replaced, and my deductible was 500. It sucks, but i couldnt drive around with it looking like that for only owning the car for two months. Damn people.

that is why i always park as far away as possible. fewer idiots pulling in and out and good exercise from the walk.

but yeah, that sucks. i hate washing my tc because even doing all that, i find new little knicks and scratches on it.
