Default Solid-Tech's prototype turbo kit fitment finished

Using a mock manifold, downpipe, wastegate, and turbo. Fitment is done and prototype kit should be done in about a week. Pics and dyonos, should be posted in two weeks or so.

We are only about 2-3 weeks from production guys.

Is this an in house production?

What kind of materials are you guys using. If you dont mind me asking, I'm curious to know if this is going to be a mild steel or stainless or cast, equal length, log style etc.

If it has an external wastegate, will it dump to the exhaust or will it dump straight out under the engine? SSR's Sentra seems to dump under the engine, and I think I'd rather have it dump into the exhaust system.

Jason our wastegate on our sentra turbo kit re routes into the exhaust system, which is in fact optional.

me too. exhaust out the back not under the car. And the catalytic converter thingy you guys said is an option how much more would it cost to have it integrated into the system? I think I'd like one especially if the original is removed. thanx 4 the info.

Yes, we're working closely with our turbo guys at AGP turbo www.agpturbo.com. Information will be available when we're ready to start taking orders and have the pictures and dynos available.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO ROUTE IT TO THE EXHAUST? thats the whole reason for having a turbo, so you can hear the blowoff sound!

Venting the wastegate back into the exhaust has NOTHING to do with the BOV.

I like to vent it, as it sounds cool and relieves backpressure in the downpipe, but tons of people don't like the noise and will want it back into the downpipe so their cars are quiet at full boost.

Screw dumping it into the exhaust - I want to vent that _____ to the atmosphere. Better response on the turbo, and there's something to be said for scaring the ____ outa the old people next to you.

If it's got an external, then dump that ****.

venting to the sides would be cool just wouldn't want it under the engine area cos it would might look like my car is having engine trouble. :D

Well if you guys live in California, dumping you wastegate into the atmosphere is a big no-no especially if your going for CARB exemption

Hot DAMN.

You know what? I completely forgot to ask something. What kind of torque numbers are we looking at for ~8PSI of boost? Thanks.

Since this is a oversquare motor we are expecting hp and tq numbers to be fairly close to each other.

The turbo will be sized bigger than most "kits". At the same time not too big to kill the low end grunt charasteristics of the motor, not to mention spool time.

Any t3/t4 style will bolt on. Ball bearing GT turbos will be an option. You can get anything from a 50 trim to a T61/p trim, or gt35r dual ball bearing.

I can't see a scion turbo kit EVER being carb legal since you have to remove the precat in order to do it.

Cordfield, if it dumps, it will have a tube extending down and back so no carbon/junk gets on the engine.

Just a note, we do a turbo kit for srt4 neone which is also a 2.4L dohc cam motor. So far we have customers making anywhere from 420-460fwhp on pump gas. We also do DSM kits and have customers making 500-520hp on pump gas. We've seen 700+ on race gas .

300-350 would be nice. I wonder if I'd need a new clutch if it was putting out 380 horses.
