Default Solved... Glove box Rattle!!!

I've been getting this very Annoying rattle coming from my glove box for a month now and i couldn't figuere it out. I thought some of the wires or bolts/nuts as possible causes but the noise was not constant but I heard them whenever I was driving thru rough pavements or bumps. Then today i decided to put the cabin air filter in (see http://www.clubsciontc.com/modules.p...ewtopic&t=1137 for detail instructions) then noticed the glove box damper (see the third picture from the clubsciontc instruction; made of cheapest platic possible) was just rattling against the two pegs that it was connected to. So, I bought some black electrical tape from H.Depot and wraped the two plastic pegs then put the damper back alone with the glove box. It's really easy but make sure that you don't use too much electrical tape to wrap the plastic peg ( I wraped it around 1.5 complete turn), otherwise the damper wouldn't fit. Just wrap it with enough tape to eliminate the free-play and the rattle of the damper. Hope that this helps and any questions please pm me.

does the filter make your car smell better? for instance, if you drive by a disael truck, does it smell?

I had a glovebox rattle (more of a creak) also, but it wasn't the damper. It was the small plastic insert on the right side of the dash opening for the glovebox. This insert is what the glovebox door latches engage. There is one on each side, but only the one on the right was making noise. I popped it out (it is just a snap-in part), applied some super glue, and snapped it back in place. One rattle down, many more to go...

have you made sure it is clipped onto the piece? mine was rattling, so i pressed it and heard the dial click into place..

the other thing is to foam tape the console edges on either side of the area where the temp dial is.. there are clips behind there.. foam tape it up.. i bet it goes quiet
