Default Spray Painted Stock rims! *PICS INSIDE*

Hey guys i just spray painted my stock 17" scion tc rims. Here are some pics, tell me what you think. Remember there is no real lip on the stock rims, so take that into consideration... I made it look like it has a lip when it really doesnt. Anyways here they are:

Actually they arent flat black at all... I used 2 coats of clear coat at the end and they are extra shiny.

Blazin, its not too hard to do, but if you want to do a nice job it will take about 8 hours. (take off rims, clean em, mask them, prime them (2 coats), wait till they dry, spray em with the actual paint, wait till they dry, spray another coat, wait till it dries. Apply clear coat, i used 2 coats but you can get away with 1 or none if you dont want protection.

go here, it will explain how to do it in detail. The masking is honestly the hardest part since the rim really doesnt have a lip so you have to mask a perfect curve which isnt easy. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1119972

I'd never paint my rims. That's just ridiculous in my opinion.

I think it looks good. Not that I'd consider it unles I didn't care about the wheels. But it looks allot like rims that cost 300+ each.

Add a few gloss coats to the black paint and it's pimp!

Masking tape.

Read the honda-tech thread from the link above. He used Rustoleam from home depot.

I would consider it but I don't know what would look good on an IIP car.

I think the rims look great. The gunmetal ones that I bought had a silver center and lugs and that looks good, so I think it turned out really well. Love the dark rims on white!

They look ok, but I think a little too dark. As someone else mentioned, I agree a gunmetal might have been nicer. But not bad for spray paint.
