I don't know why you had to call hahajoey a troll. I just don't understand it. hahajoey has been here 3 times longer than you have and also has a highly modded tasteful xB. Maybe hahajoey feels that having more than 1 thread showing off spray painted stock rims is a waste of webspace. He also has near 1000 posts which doesn't really sound too much like a troll to me. Now with all that being said...

hahajoey could have kept his mouth shut on this topic. Since this is a mod for tC's and not xB's, he should have stayed the hell out and not posted anything....but unfortunately that's not how joey operates.

Yeah, you ruined the rims. Why didn't you just buy black rims? After the weather and road conditions hits that, its going to look like $hit.

I didn't ruin my rims i fixed them... Keep in mind that i hit a curb and scratched the whole middle part of the rim on the right sides. It looked like ____ but i sanded the scratches to a smooth surface and painted them. They came out real nice in my opinion.

 

Did you sand the whole rim? If not, how much primer did you use? How well is the paint adhereing?

 

spaypaint will never last on wheels... thats why ours are powdercoated... I suggest taking them somewhere to get it done right. podercoating is far more durable. It will probably cost 200 bucks including labor to get them done the way you want them.

 

 

Wow thats not too shabby, and least you can repair them yourself I guess if they get chipped, unliek powder coated rims. Still hesitant to do myself but way to improvise

 

my boy races his car but he always spray paints his rims all black , cheaper then power coating. but the lug nuts look riced out in chrome u should have sprayed them in blk. but u would have to sand them down . so the paint will last longer with out chipping. getting back to the paint u should put aleast 4-5 layers of paint . definetly aleast 4 coates of clear. my buddy takes his rims off for a least 2 days so they can dry . so u dont spray on ur rims u gets so alumium flashing . make a circle and nail it together. put on ur rim so u dont spray paint or clear around ur tire.but u did a great job. but once u starting painting ur going to have to keeping touching them up .

 

True, but there are many little kiddies on here that have not learned the value of constructive criticism . They just like to run their mouth and bash on people. So I think both posts mentioned were uncalled for.

 

yeah. . . we xA/xB guys get it too. . . don't feel like people are hating/trolling the tC forums. I try my best to give constructive criticism on the tC forums. There are a lot of cool guys here

 

You and your "constructive criticism". You are probably a supporter of teachers using black ink instead of red ink to correct tests and papers because kids were feeling bad after getting stuff back with red all over it. What is this world coming to? I mean, if something is not right, its WRONG! This country is slacking in every way - including criticizing stuff that should be criticized. If I painted my rims black (no way in hell I ever would), I want the truth. I don't want people saying, "yeah I wouldn't do that, but I mean that looks ok". The truth hurts sometimes but its better than leading someone on that what they did was good or looks good. I noticed that you complain about "constructive criticism" in many threads. Maybe we all should just be full of joy whenever someone does something stupid to their car so people will be in the blind of how crappy their mods really are. :?

 

I Think they good. But im so against black rims cuz there ugly in my opinion. Everyone has different taste and thats what sets all our cars apart and make them unique in each way. cuz our cars represant a part of us. In which we are all unique. You do what YOU think YOU will like. NOT what EVERYONE else wanst wants, cuz then its like driving THEIR car. So Ill give you a 10 for that mod.

But I do know that they may chip alot of the prep isnt 110%. Just cuz they are wheels, There are in motion a lot and they get cleaned a lot and scrubbed a lot and a ot of road debris. But hey if you dont mind it once maybe twice/year or whatever it may come too. Then it s all good..

I was actually thinking about doing that with my bsp tc. But only in white. Think white rims would good on a bsp tc in general. And if I do attempt this. I think I may try to polish my rims before paint!! Could be a mod I see coming up very soon. Someone sell me a beat up rim asap!!lol

There's a difference between right, wrong, and opinion. Spray painting his rims doesn't violate ANY rules, regulations, or protocols.....that means that it can't be wrong OR right...it can just be judged on opinion. 2+2=5 violates the rules of math, making it wrong. 2+2=4 doesn't follows the rules of math and can be checked against the rules to determine it's correctness.

If we wanted to get into this even further I could tell a joke:
