Stainless steel door thresholds

Stainless steel door thresholds
Just got them in today after winning them at eBay for about $20.00 less than MSRP!
I'm seriosly thinking of mounting them on the lower door side interior panels instead, just below the door side pocket openings. I think they will work there better as door panel protectors.
Every tC owner must know by now that the lower door interior panels take a beating from shoes scuffing them whenever the driver or front passenger gets out of the car. The Stainless steel strips should be able to take the beating without scuffing or scratching too much. I was first thinking of covering the whole lower part of the door panel, below the door pocket openings, with black auto carpet type of material as you see in other cars, but that might be too hard to do with the panels in place and the bottom curves. It seems that the tC stainless steel thresholds will bend easily and stick to the panels and will be and easier install. It will also brighten up the otherwise drab looking door panel
What do you guys think, should I go for it, or do you think that it might look bad or tacky????
