Default Stock Airbox Resonator mod?

Hey everyone, did anyone else notice on the piping for the airbox, right at the elbow joint where it starts to go back to the firewall, there is a little extra box attached there that really serves no purpose, i'm assuming its just a resonator of some kind. I removed it and saw that it is just a chamber of air, so i was thinking of going to home depot to find something i can plug that up with, save a couple ounces in weight haha.. i'm sure it wouldn't do anything performance wise, but would make a little more room inthe engine bay

before you moving the intake box, make sure your air flow sensor light will not on.
else you will either disable air sensor, or put back stock intake box.

one little trick to do mod on stock tC.
On the filter, i have found out that tC is dual filter. remove the white one keep the upper filter that is on the cover, that will make it work as short ram intake.
YOu will notice that intake sound change little bit.

This is old school type of mod back to the early 90's, save money no item to buy.

That upper filter isn't really an air filter. It's a charcoal filter that absorbs hydrocarbons to reduce emissions when the car is stationary. I do not recommend removing the white paper filter and relying only on the charcoal filter. This would be similar to running with only a screen on your intake and is not good for your engine.
