I had the Avid H4S on the tc, and i had to return them, they were terrible. Steering halfway to oneside to turn! Steering was unresponsive and NUMB! When hitting bumps thought I had tires made of cement, very hard hitting. And they weren't that great otherwise. They might be good on other cars, in other sizes but not on the tc, and yes I did have the 215/45-17. I'm glad that the tire shop took them back!

I used to think the ZR speed rating was only for top end speed, what a tire could put up with. But I now know there is a HUGE difference between an H-Rated tire and a Z-rated tire! If you want to turn your tC into a huge feeling "Grandma" car. Then get the H4S..

Ah, didn't see...thanks for the tip, I will keep looking. I have very bumpy roads and could not tollerate tires that cant take a bump.

yeah thought i'd give you my experience. The ones I've found that are decent and comfortable for bumps are the Toyo Proxes4. I know i've recommended them so many times, but they are great (handling, steering, braking, traction, even in snow) Even good with bad roads. Well they are as good as the tc's suspension is for bad roads.. I like the ride quality, very smooth, comfortable, yet sporty.
