I call B.S. on no drifting in a FWD -- I drifted a tC when I test drove it. (shh) No, no e-brake. I was very happy about how quickly it straightened out once I wanted it to.

This guy I know hit a deer on the freeway and that totalled his Integra. He came to school once and he had pieces of fur still stuck in the car.
how could he bring the car to school if the car was totalled? :?:
Later on the insurance company said it was totalled, but it was still driveable. Just the body was messed up... Totalled here meaning cost of repairs would be more then cost of the car.

How does drifting/sliding in a FWD car make you a ricer? That's got to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard.

And you don't need the e-brake at all to drift/slide in a FWD car. It makes it easier, but it's definetly not necessary. There seem to be three people on the thread that have done it.

Have you seen that crazy pic of the squirrel who got run over by the M3 and was stuck in the grill....then after like an hour it starts moving, jumps down and runs away?

Funny stuff, I'll see if I can find the link.

Hehe, well, if you're going to dive into the import scene, may as well go all the way! Besides ummmm... it's uh... necessary to know your car does that when it gets to be Minnesota wintertime! Uh, yeah!

BTW, it did drift much better than my old FWD Dodge.

Sheesh...I can't find it.

It was posted on here last summer under "what BMW's eat for breakfast." Now it's gone. I've tried googling it but no luck.

having control while "sliding" or whatever means yu can "drift" a circle and make it bigger or smaller as yu please.

this was like 4 years ago. I was on Rt 3. In my 95 celica St thing had about 100 whp . nothing great. Well I was in the car with my GF at the time. I was so tired that day just finished working a double shift. Then went to pick her fat ___ at school. then driver her back to her house. (I should have kept my ___ home) Well while on the highway i feel asleep. I wake up to her scream, I was heading right for the center divider. as i opened my eyes.. i see the wall coming at me real fast.. i yanked the wheel in the oppisate direction. (and this is in heavy tracffice around 6pm) they back end of the car brakes loose i do a 180 go rrom the far left lane to the center land.. I see and suv in from of me know its head light in my eyes... I remeber yanking the wheels again (i was moving back wards at this point) pull up the e-brake and do another 180.. now i end up on the far right lane. and my car comets to at stop when it hit the gras on the side shoulder. and i remebre i never did hit the brake car.

Make that 4, Im not gonna pick sides on the true definition of drifting, but a couple months ago i was trying to beat a red light and i came up to the intersection at about 35 (the actual speed limit) and had to turn right, well the guy coming the other way was trying to beat the light also, but he was turning left in front of me. So i slam my brakes (foot brake) half way through the turn and quickly release by habbit. My front end stayed in my lane and my rear end slid all the way around through the other lane and then straightened out perfectly. I have never been so hyped up with adrenaline, and the guy in the truck pulled up at the next light and said that was the baddest ___ thing he had ever seen.

P.S. The first i ever heard about drifting was a documentary on tv that was done in Japan, and the cars were ALL FWD. They ALL used E-brakes, so like i said i'm not trying to argue the true definition but i guess some people just have their own opinions of what drifting SHOULD be.

bottom line learn how the f* to control ur car regardless of what you call it. it can and will save ur life. life > tC (debatable but i'm speaking from just walking out w/o a scratch from a wet road turn horrible disaster dont want to talk about it).

first thing i'm doing when she gets back (in 2 mo. ugh) is taking her out to a parking lot in the rain and f*ing trying every single maneuver/skid/slide i can think of. that was the plan for this week but it was too late. should have done it 6 months ago.

I drifted my old 95 Grand Am. That was SCARY man... never wanted to do that again. It was controlled though. I didn't enter the corner thinking drift, but it started and I had to finish it. I think it was the slant on the corner that caused it.

Anyway, glad you made it out ok. I've been in quite a few close calls (but no accidents YET).
That's why I hardly ever drive fast unless I'm WAY out on some really open road. If any traffic is around at all I don't. You never know what the other people are doing. In this day and age, turn signals must be optional.

Okay, I just know you guys are not going to believe me, nevertheless make me 6 on that list
When i first drifted it was in a FWD, no not a car, a minivan, yes a minivan, a 99 Ford Windstar LX, royal blue, and No you dont need the e-brake you just need to know how to control or maneuver your car, I remember that the minivan, being a heavy rear ended automobile, the back swayed pretty badly if not controlled right + my rear tires were all used up so there was no traction in them, Mix No traction at the rear wheels, mix a heavy braking, or just heavy enough to spin the back to the side and the rest is what people call drifting, and yeah ive done it in the tC, and YES I THANK GOD for making me LEARN previously to having my car, because it has saved my beautiful tC's rear end about 5 times now, people are just getting crazier and crazier on the roads these days and I call it drifting, because my car did slide and I induced it, I steered it while it slided, and I made it end or stopped itsdrift , SO IT IS DRIFTING....
