When will people start paying attention and realize that all dynos are different.

Absolute numbers are not something to be looking at - what you need to consider is the difference.

Nice gains, btw. Full CAI?

Remember, the 160hp that Scion claims is at the fly. By the time is get's to the wheels we're talking about a 15%-20% loss due to friction, etc. So 131hp stock is impressive.

hmmm, maybe just cautious since another CAI which will remain nameless posted 12hp gains after having a super-low stock run. when it was retested it was somewhere between 6-8hp gain. not saying that a DIY intake can't get 10hp, but it makes the 131hp seem a bit off.

also, most dyno runs I've seen have been around 140-141hp stock.

You have to remember with the nameless 12hp Intake there was more factores then the dyno. They ran it with the hood open if I remember correctly and I'd say that accounted for the huge HP increase. I wonder if this dyno did the same.

Default Readings definitely low...

Those readings are definitely off unless that is an automatic. I got 143 hp and 153 torque on 3 runs for the company that is prototyping a new race header and full exhaust using my tC.

Nice explanation, and yes is a full CAI. My tC is 5 speed manual, the reason that only get 131hp stock is that not all dynos never gone to read the same. Because there are other factor that cause this difference like the barometic pressure of the city were you live (wheather, temperature, altitude and other external factors). The most important part here is the gain that I obtain whit my design of CAI with only $55 and the TRD CAI is a lot of more complicated, restrictive and expensive.

AEM and DC Sports both dyno their products with the vehicle’s hood open, and a fan at the front and rear. Going off memory, Injen is the only company I can think of (that publishes their dyno procedure) that dynos with the hood closed, IIRC, that is. Regarding the Weapon R intake, there were differences in the design of the two that were tested, according to Weapon R, that may have accounted for the difference in power gain. I'm still waiting for the final product to be released and tested, instead of prototypes.

Do your research b/c they actually did make them but they started kind of late doing it. The production actually started around june I belive. So a few months down the road they started calling them 05's
