Car goes over river embankment
Sheboygan Press staff
A 21-year-old Sheboygan man was cited for reckless driving after he drove a 2005 Scion tC through a wire fence backwards and hit a tree just south of Kiwanis Park, police said.
Witnesses told police that Kellen D. Anderle, of 508 N. 15th St., was driving 60 mph to 80 mph southbound on North 17th Street near River Parkway at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday when the car went out of control, spun around and left 170 feet of skid marks on the road, sidewalk and grass before hitting the tree, said Officer Jason Pacey of the Sheboygan Police Department. Anderle, the lone occupant in the car, was not injured in the crash but the Scion had to be towed from the scene.
The car stopped against the tree, which was about 20 feet from the Sheboygan River. Witnesses said Anderle was northbound on North 17th Street, turned around at Kiwanis Park and "gunned it back," Pacey said.
Prior to the crash, police received four complaints of the Scion driving recklessly in the neighborhood, Pacey said
