tC listed 19th in Forbes Most Dangerous List
I think this is probably a useless list at this point, since the 08 tC comes with side and curtain airbags standard... no?
But here you go anyways...
Here's the full link:

Kind of a dumb list. Since even their #1 they're saying is discontinued. And a bunch of the ones on the list are only there b/c the side/curtain airbags are optional and not standard. And the S2000 is on there b/c it doesn't even have them as an option. Well no ____... look at the car, where would you put them?!
But here you go anyways...
19. Toyota Scion tC
Two-Door
SCORE: 113
Consumer Reports' accident avoidance: Better than average
Like most small, sporty coupes, the tC boasts good handling--as evidenced by CR's "better than average" rating for accident avoidance and a relatively low risk of rollover. But side-impact airbags aren't standard and if not equipped with the optional side airbags and curtain bags, the tC can be a little risky. It received a just-acceptable, four-star side-impact rating

Well I think they're playing it up a little more than necessary. It's not like it's a death trap - though they really make it sound like that.
Ya... a barely acceptable 4 star side impact rating (out of 5). Ya, we're all going to die now.
Take it with a few grains of salt, really. Just more random media paranoia.

ehh.. i've seen the impact that these cars can stand and still protect the occupants inside....
i think i'll trust my own experiences and other friends before a magazine.

Quite a few members of these boards were involved in accidents. Some of them bad accidents. The cars were mangled but the driver made it out ok. I think that tells you something about the car. Doesnt matter how the car looks in the end, if it protected the driver it did its job.
...They listed it as a Toyota Scion tC

Apparently none of those jerk offs haver ever driven in a Ford Festiva, google it if you've never seen it. It doesn't matter how safe a car is, there are just some wrecks you can't walk away from.

The car holds up amazingly well in wrecks. And there is a lot to be said against airbags and how much safer they make you as well. If thier only beef is that it doesnt come standard with SAB then they are complete jerk offs. The structural build is amazing considering the type and size of the car, as witnessed by the many who have walked away after rolling the car multiple times, getting hit, etc. Dont pay too much attention to those types of writeups.

I say its jusified to call a car unsafe if something is wrong with it, calling it unsafe by not making a safety option like a SAB standard is just not right after all even if you have all the safety feature and the safest vehicle still there is no guarantee that you will have no serious injury.. no accident is safe to make it short.

^^ Yup. Its not so much about certain safety features being optional like SAB. Its about how well a vehicle is able to absorb the force of the impact while still protecting the driver and passengers inside. Marking a vehicle safe or unsafe shouldnt be about which features are options and which are standard. In all honesty, a car can have all the airbags it could possibly fit but that wont mean a thing if the design and engineering of the car isnt able to handle the force of the crash. Thats what they should really be basing their article on.

I was in a really bad accident with my first tC where a lady ran a red an T-Boned me and my girlfriend. The cops there said if it wasnt for that car and the side air bag my girlfriend would have died. And they've seen plenty of accidents.
