The only thing I have issues with is the rear lights of the 3, otherwise, both are really nice looking cars. This thread is about style so that's my opinion.

I was in the parking lot of a Target the other day and when I came out a Saturn Ion was parked about 3 spaces in front of me and I noticed that the rear of the Ion resembles somewhat the tC's rear.

Just in styling cues such as angles and everything. The Ion's bumber and rear are too boxy, but the styling cues such as angles and lengths are remarkably close...just my opinon.

Similarities - I don't think that's what the thread author was looking for.

Impressions:

Scion - When I first saw the TC, I thought it looked like a civic trying to be an RSX....with Maxima tail-lights.

BMW3 - When I first saw the 3, I thought it looked like something from Korea with a BMW grill and nice wheels. It's an "under the radar" look. Nothing special and everything ordinary. Ford would be proud.

IMO - I like the TC body style better.

I like the aggressive look of my tC around the rear section esp. with large wheels...all other coupes look kind of weak

you still haven't explained why you have bigger wheels in the back! lol. Unless you are really going for the JDM RWD look.

They might have gotten some styling ideas from it, but I don't think anything more than that. I personally think that Toyota/Scion came out with the tC to get the old Celica drivers to buy a new car, and to replace it in the family of cars. I think the tC will only get better with time, as long as they keep the competitive pricing.

I couldn't have put it any better than this. This quote should be stickied.

The old 3 coupe kinda shares some cues...if you squint just right. Otherwise the eyebrows look pretty close.
