what do you mean by light? as in someone driving by with a flatbed, and hoisting the whole car away? (happened to a guy i knew, really sucks)

but yea.... our tCs are not light. they are 3000+ lbs.. i wouldn't exactly call them light.

im inclined to agree that he pulled a 5-key length typo.

yes, i also agree that the tC is tight. i haven't heard anyone mention that they got their tC jacked yet... hope i never do, but i do wonder how good is that engine immobilizer thats in it. i mean, if they really wanted it, they'd have it. but come'on.... a $16k car... even if it does look tight. i dont think its in their best interest.

What kind of alarms are people installing? My tC owning friend said "you can lock the door's with the little thing"

I know people are just towing cars away now and the alarms are becoming less significant. Shame. Buy a gun.

I remember some guy being carjacked for his tC. But yeah, they tow now.

But there maybe alarms with tilt sensor(pending its not a BMW only thing)

I got my tC broken into, but it's because i forgot to lock the door. I had an aftermarket alarm too. They messed up my ignition cylinder and now i have to replace it. But they weren't able to jack it.

I'm so ____ed off. I'm gonna get that guy. I caught him while he was doing another car, but he got away. Wat's worse is that he still lives in the same apartment complex!

These cars use a chip key, so don't worry about these cars getting strait up jacked unless they have a key.

or a tow truck/flat bed. i knew a guy that had his car stolen right in front of his house. police wrote it up as a flat bed, because you could see tire drag marks on the floor suddenly disappearing.. oh well.

oh, and thats what insurance at $800/6 months is for. peace of mind that if you do get jacked, you'll be covered. (minus deductible of course)

Thats why on my alarm system (Clifford Responder 2 way system) I have a tilt sensor installed too.

OK so you have your tilt sensor. If the thieves are suited up like pro's...and this isnt happening outside your front door, then who is going to question the alarm as they put it on the flatbed?
Maybe you have two-way and can run out to the scene, kill those _____es and steal their truck with your tC on the back.

Thats the plan. I got the 2 way system for a reason. The b**tards better drop what their doing and run when they set off the alarm, because I'm either coming out running with a gun or a bat depending on whats closest.

hey let them steal it, no reason to get yourself injured. I mean do what you can but for me ill just hope that ins will take over. I really hope that it doesnt ever happen to me or anyone else but its inevitable. As we say, material things are replaceable, we arent.
